Wolf (ウルフ, Wolf) returns as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. V as a hidden character.
Wolf has a 2nd costume which is pretty much his appearance in Brawl making for four palette swaps for each costume. 1 locked for each. Wolf is once again voiced by Jay Ward and Mahito Oba in english.
How to Unlock[]
Play 175 VS matches. (Both Online and Offline counted)
- Complete Classic Mode with Fox, Krystal, and Falco on intensity 8.0 or higher 5 times.
Changes from Brawl[]
Aesthetics
His main appearance is now based on his appearance in Star Fox 2 mixed with some features based on his appearance in Star Fox 64. His secondary appearance is directly from Brawl.
Like every other veteran,Wolf now appears much more vibrant and his appearance is more based off his appearance in his games with a small realistic touch.
Attributes
Wolf is a bit heavier.
Wolf appears to be slightly taller.
Like Fox and Falco in the transition to Smash 4, Wolf’s attacks are more defined than in Brawl.

Some tilts appear to be performed a bit more sluggish but do more damage.

Side Special | Wolf Flash | 3% (dash), 10% (sweetspot), 15% (meteor sweetspot) | Wolf quickly propels himself diagonally upwards at a 35° angle. The sweetspot located at the center of Wolf that meteor smashes airborne opponents. |
Alternate 1 | Wolf Slash | 15% | Wolf boosts forward slash the opponent as they take heavy damage and knockback. It takes quite a lot of shield but can evaded quite easily. |
Alternate 2 | Straight Wolf Flash | 2% (dash), 7% (sweetspot), 12% (meteor sweetspot) | More similar to Fox and Falco’s side specials. However, it’s quite weaker. |
Up Special | Fire Wolf | 2% (hit 1), 1% (hits 2-8), 3% (hit 9 ground), 4% (hit 9 air) | Wolf surronds himself in a flame and kicks his opponent depending on which direction is held on the Control Stick. |

Down Special | Reflector | 3% (startup), x1.3 damage (reflected projectiles) | Wolf activates his Reflector around himself. All projectiles are deflected and do more damage than they normally would and travels at almost twice the original speed. The Reflector damages nearby foes upon activation. |

SIDE - Does three kicks whilst spinning on one foot, and says "What's the matter, scared?"
UP - Leans his head back and howls.
DOWN - Kneels down, slaps one hand on the ground and snarls.
SMASH TAUNT - On Lylat Cruise, Wolf can summon various Star Fox Conversations if the player presses his or her Down Taunt button for one frame.
Character Selection Screen Animation[]
Wolf points his blaster at the screen with a “heh”.
On Screen Appearance[]
Wolf ejects from a passing Wolfen.
Victory Animations[]
Faces away from the screen, raises an arm, then turns to look at the camera while saying "Weaklings, the bunch of you!"
Claws the air twice, pauses and kicks while saying "I will be the one to take you down."
Leans forward and snarls, then stands up straight, crosses his arms, and laughs.
If Wolf wins a match against Fox, Krystal, or Falco and performs the third victory pose, he says "Playtime's over, Star Fox!"
