Wishiwashi, known in Japanese as ヨワシ (Yowashi), is a peculiar Water-type Pokémon. While it doesn't evolve, it is able to change form after reaching a certain level, thanks to its ability Schooling. Its second form is actually made up of hundreds of other Wishiwashi, thus making it ginormous.
Biology[]
Wishiwashi is a piscine Pokémon with a white head and white tailfin. Its front fins take the same silvern color as its belly while its dorsal fin and back are colored deep blue. There are four shapes running on its sides, colored white. Its face consists of two large eyes with blue, drooping lids and sky blue, cross-shaped pupils, as well as a overly frowning mouth, giving it an overall sad expression.
As what one might have guessed, a single Wishiwashi is very weak. Measuring just eight inches, it is described very small even for a Pokémon. Despite its weak appearance, Wishiwashi is actually a very feared Pokémon among the people of Alola. When an experienced Wishiwashi needs help, it uses its large eyes to call its brethren, by catching light with its glistening and shine SOS signals. When lots of Wishiwashi come together, they take formation into its much larger Schooling Form. This Schooling form is so fearsome that even Gyarados tend to flee from it.
Wishiwashi's Schooling Form appears to be colored in several hues of dark blue. Blue, shining dots, these being each Solo Form's eyes, are decorated all over its body. Its eye is made up of a few white Wishiwashi, it gains two more dorsal fins, also being two more Wishiwashi, and its Wishiwashi-formed front fins gained three "fingers" each. While the large gaping maw has the same shape as the frown it usually bears, it is giving a much more fearsome expression on the Schooling form.
