Final Smash Punishment

Weavile (マニューラ Manyula) appears as a newcomer in Super Smash Bros. V , revealed at the end of the third game in the 7th gen “Pokemon Mid” Direct on November 7, 2018.

“Weavile is a Dark/Ice type Pokemon. It is devious and intelligent. It usually lives in cold, icy areas where it forms small packs. A pack of Weavile uses teamwork to take down its prey. It can communicate in the form of carving patterns on trees, ice and boulders. Weavile evolves from Sneasel when leveled up at night holding a Razor Claw.”
Weavile is confirmed as being a female.
Weavile is confirmed to have no alternate costume. For her appearance in SSBV, Weavile retains her voice actor from Brawl, Bill Rogers. Bill Rogers had to record much more voice clips.

 • Strong

 •
Very fast and agile character

 •
Good air speed

 •
Can crawl which allows her to avoid linear traveling projectiles.

 •
Can wall cling and wall jump.

 •
High jump

 •
Fast fall speed

 •
Top 5 in the lightest characters in the game meaning KOed easily and early

 •
Easily comboed due to fast fall speed

 • Low shield (Shield gets broken by a fully charged Charged Shot from Samus)

Weavile is a very fast character. She’s very agile and she’s pretty strong. She’s pretty quick in the air. She also has a high jump and a fast fall speed. Another thing to note is that she can wall cling and wall jump and she can also crawl. She has some very interesting special attacks like her Low Kick and False Swipe. Her Swords Dance is got for getting that extra KO potential and she can be very overwhelming.

Weavile is also one of the lightest characters in the game standing in the Top 5. You know what that means? Early KOs. She gets KOed to stronger regular attacks pretty early. She can also be comboed easily due to her fast fall speed which can be bad. Her shield also gets DECIMATED easily by few strong attacks.

Besides these flaws, Weavile put in the hands of an aggressive player can be something else.

Floor Attack (trip) 5% Slashes with claws.
Edge Attack 6% Gets up attacking with claws.

Special Attacks

Name Damage Description
Neutral Special Swords Dance Weavile begins to “power up” as 2 transparent swords lift from his sides going up. Similar to Wii Fit Trainer’s Deep Breathing, must be released on time to get a power boost (x1.5 damage and knockback) for a short period of time. After used once, charge speed decreased till next stock.
Alternate 1 Ice Beam 5%-14% Weavile charges a blast of ice and fires it. At full charge freezes opponents on the spot. During the charge a mist-like effect is shown on Weavile’s hands and gets larger the more its charged. Deals damage on a fully charged blast while freezing opponent on the spot for a good amount of time leading to a follow up. Cannot be reflected.
Alternate 2 Screech 7% (uncharged), 22% (fully charged) Very, very similar to Marth’s shield breaker. A chargeable scream which breaks shields.
Side Special Ice Shard 3% (each) Weavile chucks 3 mini ice knives forward. Stops every single move in the game, besides Final Smashes. Has a very special attribute that allows it to stop Super Armored moves, making it possibly the best projectile in the game due to its utility and speed. Can be reflected.
Alternate 1 Shadow Claw 11%, 8% (late) Weavile puts out a claw in which a Shadow aura shrouds it going forward for good range. Slashes at opponents with good knockback. Can be used to grab ledges.
Alternate 2 False Swipe 5% (throw), 1.3x (reflected projectiles) Works just like Mewtwo’s Confusion in SSB4, the difference is that she makes physical contact.
Up Special Night Slash 11% Slashes upward as a purple slash bar follows its claw. Travels a little less distance than Mario’s Up Special. Has a very high critical hit chance meaning it can KO pretty early.
Alternate 1 Aerial Ace 3% (total) Weavile literally quickly “flies” upwards. The direction can be changed/angled similar to Pikachu’s Quick Attack.
Alternate 2 Agility Weaviles zips from left to right as he moves upwards-upwards-horizontally. Does not deal damage but Weavile cannot be hit during the animation.
Down Special Low Kick 7%-12% Slides low feet first attacking opponent. Works very similar to Falcon Kick without the fire effect. Does more damage to heavier fighters just like in the Pokemon games how the attack does more damage to heavier Pokemon.
Alternate 1 Icicle Crash 12% Weavile rains down an onslaught of Ice from midair. Good damage and knockback. Good for defensive, keep away options.
Alternate 2 Revenge A counter. The only difference is that it doesn’t actually cancel the attacking move instead it has super armor and Weavile hits back much harder. Confirmed to be much stronger than a regular counter, but it does come out slower.
Final Smash Punishment 48% Trap Final Smash. Weavile grabs a nearby fighter and begins to literally punish them with slashes, slams, kicks, and all types of attacks. Then finishes it off with a very powerful spin throw sending them either forward or backwards.

The Reveal Trailer Starts off in a snowy area. Pikachu is seen with Mario, Link, and Fox examining a patch of snow. At that moement, they notice a light of fire which is revealed to be Charizard along with Lucario and Greninja standing beside confirming all 3 to be returning. Mario, Link, and Fox then get into a ready position as Charizard signals at them to wait one second. Weavile then steps out looking smug, then comes the tagline "Weavile brings the Pressure!". Weavile then points at Pikachu apparently wanting a fight with Pikachu. Pikachu stares at Weavile as the others look on. Pikachu finally gets up then starts to walk past Mario, Link, and Fox, looks straight at Weavile then begins to chrage electricity. Weavile becomes fired up then the 2 charged at each other only to be stopped by a blast. Everyone looks in the direction of a blast to be greeted to a glowing red eye in the mist. The figure steps out as the camera is behind the figure showing the others. Weavile and Pikachu looking pretty frightened decide to retreat as the figure steps out. The figure is revealed to be Genesect who is glitching out. It then lets out a cry, straightens itself together and then looks right at the others, then comes the promo, "Genesect, The Great Creation?!?!" Genesect proceeds to walk forward as music from the background music from the 16th Pokemon movie plays. The others get ready as Genesect charges straight at them.

Now comes the gameplay. Various attacks, taunts, and palette swaps are shown from Genesect and Weavile. Their final smashes are both shown. Some of their colors are also shown as well. In the post-trailer scene, Genesect appears to have calmed down and is resting with Pikachu and Weavile. After the trailer, gameplay with Greninja, Charizard, Lucario, and Fox is shown on Pokemon Stadium III, confirming Pokemon Stadium III.
