Walafgufrost is a fanmade dual-type Water/Ice Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation VI. It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon.
It is related to the Aura trio, which consists of Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde. It represents chaos, the opposite of Zygarde representing order (similar to how Xerneas and Yveltal represent life and destruction respectively, which are also opposites). Its signature Ability is Frigid Water Aura (increases the effectiveness of Water and Ice type moves by 1/3), and its signature moves are Ocean Storm (a Water type variant of Zygarde's Land's Wrath) and Chaotic Freeze (an Ice type variant of Zygarde's Core Enforcer that is guaranteed to freeze the opponent in addition to suppressing their ability).
Walafgufrost is the version mascot of Pokémon W, appearing on the boxart.
Walafgufrost is a large fish-like Pokémon with eel-like qualities. Its body is mostly purple in color with portions of black on its large center horizontal fins, stomach, eyebrows, and back. It also has ice blue markings on its face, as well as an ice blue head fin, small lower fins, large center vertical fins, and tail fin.
Walafgufrost has three teeth. Black eyebrows extend from above its red eyes. When Walafgufrost folds its large center horizontal fins as it swims, it resembles the English letter W.
Walafgufrost has the power to teleport between dimensions and disrupt the balance between Xerneas and Yveltal, forcing Zygarde to appear and restore order. When it reaches the end of its lifespan, it folds its fins and spreads chaos to everything around it before transforming into an iceberg to sleep for 1,000 years. Walafgufrost is the only Pokémon capable of learning the moves Ocean Storm and Chaotic Freeze.
Origin[]
Walafgufrost's appearance is based on an aquatic creature in the shape of the letter W, similar to how Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde resemble their respective letters.
Name origin[]
Walafgufrost starts with the letter W. It may be derived from the w-axis, whale, Hafgufa, squalus (Latin for shark), and frost.
