Origin[]
Vulcahag appears to be based on a stereotypical old witch and witchcrafting in general. Its Fire-typing is a possible reference to common witch-hunts that involved burning a victim for the accused practice of witchcraft. Its old appearance, Fire-typing, as well its pre-evo Maghat being found exclusivly in Mount Nelis might be based on Vesuvia, the main antagonist of the 2003 animated italian film Toto Sapore e la magica storia della pizza. Its signature move is also a reference to the same movie where they play a significant role, which contributes to the creation of pizza.
