Villagers are humanoid characters that act as the customizable avatar characters of the Animal Crossing series. While their shirts have been customizable through every iteration of the Animal Crossing series, other games have added in additional options such as hairstyles, shorts, shoes, and skin tones.
Villagers have appeared outside the Animal Crossing series, with prominent appearances in Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. While Villagers outside of the Animal Crossing titles are generally not customizable, they often take the appearances of generic villagers used in Animal Crossing promotional material.
Appearances
Super Duper Smash Bros.
In Super Duper Smash Bros., a Villager (under the name of "Animal Crossing Boy") makes an appearance as a playable fighter. He is the only playable character chosen from the Animal Crossing series.
