Fantendo - Game Ideas & More

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas. It's me, Mr. Whiny McCrybaby, and I have something to address. I hope none of you asked for Pokémon X or Pokémon Y as one of your gifts. If so, your parents (or whoever bought it for you) wasted their time and money getting it for you. I seriously hate the direction the Pokémon series is going. Generation VI is terrible. Nearly 70 new Pokémon are in this generation. It is by far the worst, and I mean the WORST, generation in the franchise. It was like Game Freak was LOOKING for ways to screw their beloved games up. It's going to be hard to list everything I hate about these games, but I'll try anyway. Prepare for another essay.

Mega Evolutions. I thought this concept was pretty cool, but then I learned that not every Pokémon gets one. Why call them Mega Evolutions when they're just changing forme? Venusaur's design changes, but it keeps its name. Sounds like a Forme Change to me. Why not just call them Power-ups? They made such a simple idea into one that sounds too complex to bear. EVERY POKÉMON SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN A MEGA EVOLUTION. INCLUDING LEGENDARIES. Mega Evolutions made PokÉmon seem to overpowered. BTW, why does Blaziken get one, but not Sceptile or Swampert? I'll give them credit for giving Charizard that Dragon typing we've been waiting years for, but that's one of the few things they got right with Mega Evolutions.

They took away a lot of what made Generation V cool. Badges are once again needed for HMs to work. I've always hated HMs, and this made me hate them more. They DID add five more TMs to the list, bringing back Dark Pulse and Nature Power, but adding three worthless moves.

Pokémon Black and Pokémon White brought "the new beginning of Pokémon" to the series. I loved those games. I thought it was okay that they brought older Pokémon to B2W2. But that didn't have to happen for XY. At the beginning of the game, I thought, "Oh, cool, a Fletchling!" Once I got my starter (in a totally unoriginal way) and hit the road, I saw a Bunnelby. It was only Route 2, so I was expecting to see weak Pkémon. Then I saw a Pidgey and thought, "Oh, lord." What good does bringing Pokémon from previous generations back do? They don't get any new evolutions (except for Eevee with worthless-ass Sylveon). Why didn't more Pokémon get introduced instead? There are only 69 of them! The series abandoned that "new beginning" idea it started and became something horrible. Also, why don't any Generation V or VI Pokémon get any Mega Evolutions? Yes, I know that Pikachu's in X and Y, but other than that, the nostalgia just wasn't there. I've raised many Pokémon over the course of the series, and I don't want to raise the same ones again. That's what I liked about Black and White. I don't care if any old Pokémon got new moves or Abilities, I raised them once and I don't want to raise them again. Kalos introduced a very small number of Pokémon, and many of them show how Game Freak is running out of ideas. I mean, a JINGLING KEYS Pokémon?! Come on! I think Generation VI was rushed. It relied too much on older generations. They should have waited a year and took their time creating new Pokémon.

The concept of some of these new Pokémon is pretty cool. we get some unique type combinations, such as Poison/Dragon, Fighting/Flying, and Dark/Psychic. One type I HATE is Fairy. "But it's supposed to balance out the Dragon type!" Bullshit. Dragon doesn't need balancing out. For God's sake, it's only weak to Ice and itself. But Game Freak HAD to make Fairy STRONG against Dragon. Yeah right. Did they think it was bad that Dragon was the best type? I always thought it was supposed to be that way! "But Fairy is supposed bring mythical elements to the series!" No. Just no. Pokémon DOES have mythical elements. Legendary Pokémon. Mythical Pokémon. Psychic. Dark. Ghost. Arceus. Dialga. Palkia. Giratina. Whatever. And don't you think Pokémon in itself is mythical? They're creatures who can breathe fire, shoot lightning, freeze objects! So don't tell me Pokémon doesn't have enough mythical elements.

I need to talk about Florges. Move over, Lopunny. Game Freak has created a new slut of the series! The first thing I noticed about this Pokémon was its poppin' booty. The second thing I noticed was its unpronounceable name. Floor-jess? Floor-gess? Ugh. This Pokémon is provocative beyond relief. It's 100% female, too. It's not that bad of a Pokémon, though. It has great Special Defense, actually. But it's (or she's) based on a nymph, a sexual creature in mythology. I don't know it's not part-Grass, butcause it is largely associated with flowers, and knows a bunch of Grass-type moves.

I'm just gonna stop there. I'm done with the Pokémon series. I'm 17 years old, and while many 17-year-olds probably play Pokémon, I won't be any longer. X and Y screwed up the series. It chased me away. I hated Generation V at first, but now I love it just as much as the generations before it. The same won't happen with Gen. VI. I won't play any future Pokémon games. I'm sorry if you're reading and you're a Pokémon fan, and if you're offended by what I say. This is how I see the series now, and I'm sticking to it. I think a lot of the new Pokémon are cool, but there's just too little of them. I need more. I need more originality. Some gameplay mechanics in the games are cool, but X and Y abandoned a lot of things that I loved.
