Hey, so it's been a long time - longer than I anticipated; but I bet some of you are wondering where I was for the past couple years, if you're not already on the Fantendo Discord.
For those who don't know me, I'm not quite a classic editor, but I'm not a newbie either. I've been on Fantendo since 2013, and I've spawned a ton of projects from the deepest reaches of my imagination; whether those be received warmly or coldly is entirely up to individual interpretation. I've made a good deal of friends, and while we have since drifted apart or lost contact, I do appreciate those of you who were friends in those early years of nonsense; it's helped me out as a person since then.
But why did I drop off suddenly when everyone else was getting busy? Well several reasons:
- A lot of really upsetting stuff happened within the span of the last two years of my life, which I won't share here; let's just say it's something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy - although it hasn't all been bad.
- With my use of Discord, Twitter and Google Docs on the rise, I've had no reason to visit the wiki: Docs helps me put stuff that I only considered adding in a separate section without making it public, so that's a point over the ever-changing Fandom UCP editing of Fantendo; Twitter helps me keep with the outside news regarding video games and helps me with the next thing on my list; And Discord lets me chat with those of you who know me and share private convos with those I enjoy chatting with.
- And the most important thing that caused my drop-off? I have a Twitch channel now: Found here. Two hours of my time on weeknights (usually around 7PM EST), I sit down and play through a game of mine, whether new or old, enjoyed or not-so-much. I'm looking to make money off this account eventually, but right now, I've got a ways to go before I hit the necessary marks.
Between all this, and drama on the wiki, I just haven't gotten around to editing as much as I used to; as a result, I've more or less retired from editing, even though most of my projects are still unfinished - and no, they won't be up for adoption; even if I don't edit them for a while, I would like them to remain that way if things should ever change about how I feel.
I also won't be remaining in the Fantendo Discord server forever either; truth be told, I do more chatting on other servers outside of it, and I've been wanting to make my own for a while. When my own server is finished, I'll probably be leaving in short order - unless I never get done with it, which is honestly a very real possibility; the rules may be noticeably different than what you might be used to, but it'll be a place where you can keep in touch, aside from DMs.
Until next time. Hang loose everyone.
