This game is a work in progress. The name specifically will likely be changed in the future.

Super Mario Godlike is an open-world adventure platforming game released on June 10th, 2008 for the Nintendo Wii. It is the first 3D Mario game to feature one giant map, as opposed to being split up into levels. The game centers around Mario, Luigi, and Wario as they journey to save the Mushroom Kingdom from Bowser and his army. Along the way, they must help free other kingdoms and towns from Bowser's rule. Like other games in the series, the player must collect Power Stars to progress through the game. Similarly to Super Mario 64, the power of the stars is often needed to pass into the next area or to trigger an event.

The game begins with a messy letter from Princess Peach which reads:

Dear Mario,
Get over to the castle right now.
I have a surprise for you.
From, Peach

The game then starts Mario off at the entrance to the Mushroom Kingdom with Luigi at his side. The player can explore the Kingdom and talk to the Toads there, although most of the houses are locked. Once inside Peach's Castle, Toadsworth will greet Mario from the top of the stairs. Toadsworth will then shut the door on Luigi after Mario walks through and the two walk together to Peach's room. Toadsworth then leaves.

Peach looks surprised to see Mario and asks what brings him to her castle. Confused, Mario shows her the letter and scratches his head. As Peach is reading it, equally confused, a loud explosion is heard from nearby. The two rush over to the nearest window, and jump to the side as a Bullet Bill crashes through. Peach and Mario then attempt to escape the castle as it falls apart. This is considered the first "mission" in the game.

The player must dodge Bullet Bills, Bob-ombs, and other enemies from Bowser's Army as they appear. The player must also jump over gaps in the floor and avoid being hit by pieces of the ceiling as they come crashing down. About halfway through the mission, the camera turns around to reveal a giant airship with Bowser's silhouette on top. A giant hand from the airship snatches Princess Peach and carries her away as she yells for help. The airship then flies over the castle, dropping Bob-ombs inside.

When the player finally reaches the outside of the castle, the land begins to split apart underneath Mario's feet. Once Mario reaches the outskirts of the Kingdom, the land splits off entirely, separating the Mushroom Kingdom from the rest of the world.

The player will eventually find Toadsworth hiding behind a tree with a Power Star floating next to him. After collecting it, Toadsworth will then give the player a tutorial on how to play the game. From this point on, Mario must travel around the world collecting Power Stars so he can grow powerful enough to defeat Bowser.
