"The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Tales" is an upcoming Legend of Zelda game coming to the upcoming Nintendo NX. It is slated for a 2018 release, and will be going back to the series 8-bit roots, in a similar vain to Link's Awakening. The defining feature of the game is the ability to play as Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf, depending on which story you choose.

In terms of style, the game looks a lot like a mix between Link's Awakening and The Minish Cap. It's top-down, much like the original few Zelda games. However, there are plenty of changes. For one, with the power of the NX, the entire map of Hyrule is WAY bigger. In addition, each story mode has different locations, passages, and dungeons. There are 3 times the items since there are 3 times the characters. Much like A Link Between Worlds and A Link to the Past, you can travel up and down.

Link is your usual character and use his sword, shield, hookshot, etc. He can upgrade his weapons, shop at stores, and can play his ocarina to use his items. However, he isn't very good at stealth and has to buy things are the normal price.

Zelda is nothing like Link. She can use arrows, turn into Sheik, and is great at stealth sections. In addition, as Zelda, she can buy potions and stuff for a lower price, but as Sheik, it's the regular price. Also, Zelda isn't the most powerful character...

Ganondorf is powerful, but comes at the cost of being slow and taking more damage. Link and Zelda's enemies don't attack them, but their allies do. Ganondorf can't buy any items, but can turn into Ganon at special points in the game.

Playable Characters

Character Description
LinkPiskel Link is the main hero of nearly all of the Zelda games. Link sets out to defeat Ganondorf and save Hyrule from destruction, unknowningly being helped by Princess Zelda along the way. He can ride Epona, play his ocarina, and use the items he finds in dungeons.
Zelda Piskel Zelda is the princess of Hyrule, and isn't usually playable. But now, she must secretly aid Link in his quest to stop Ganondorf. Zelda can use Light Arrows, throw Deku Nuts at enemies, and even transform into Sheik. She isn't the most powerful character, though.
Ganon Piskel Ganondorf has been reincarnated and plans to destroy the kingdom of Hyrule. Ganondorf is a slow but menacing powerhouse. He can't buy items, but he can find stuff scattered around. He can also turn into Ganon at certain points. All of the heroes' enemies serve him and vice versa.
Tingle Piskel That's right! Tingle is getting his own story mode via DLC! The Goddess of Rupees has asked Tingle to regain the "Rupee Heart." Tingle can toss Rupees, do his signature dance, fly with his balloon, and throw maps. His story takes place during all of the other 3 character's story.
