Sonic Generations 2 is a platformer developed by SEGA and RECHSOFT and published by SEGA for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on November 21st, 2018. The game focuses on the adventures of both Classic and Modern Sonic as they are sent through the past by one of Eggman's traps.

Gameplay

The game has two main playable characters; Classic Sonic, representing Sonic from before Sonic Adventure, and Modern Sonic, representing Sonic after Sonic Adventure. Classic Sonic's levels play out similar to the original Sonic 2D Platformers, while Modern Sonic's levels play similar to the games after Sonic Adventure.

A new addition to Sonic Generations 2 is Boss Levels. Similar to the other levels, Boss Levels now have 2 acts. The Modern act is similar to Sonic Generations 1 in that it begins at the boss battle. However, similar to the classic games, Classic Sonic now has to go through a level before they reach the boss.
