Invincibility Super Speed Reflecting Projectiles |
When Sonic collects 50 Rings, along with absorbing the positive Chaos Energy of the 7 Chaos Emeralds, he turns into Super Sonic. Sonic's eyes turn red and his fur turns gold. Super Sonic first appeared in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Super Sonic has the power to fly, launch energy blasts and is invincible as long as he has rings. When Super Sonic loses all his rings, he turns into normal Sonic again.
This form usually applies in final boss battles of the Sonic games, but can sometimes be applied in even the most ordinary levels of one game, as long Sonic has all the Chaos Emeralds and at least 50 rings. It is also Sonic's Final Smash in the Super Smash Bros. series.
