The reveal trailer opens in Blue's House. Steve runs on-screen and sits in the Thinking Chair, the camera zooming in on him.
Steve: OK, now that we're in our Thinking Chair, let's think!"
Steve then pulls out his Handy-Dandy Notebook and starts relaying the clues he found.
Steve: So, we're trying to find out what Blue was invited to today, and our clues are... a Boxing Glove... a Nintendo Switch... and a Letter. So what could Blue have been invited to, that involves a Boxing Glove, a Nintendo Switch, and a Letter?
Just before he can answer the question, the Mail Time theme starts playing, and Steve jumps out of his chair and sings the Mail Time song.
Steve: Here's the mail, it never fails, when it comes I wanna wag my tail, when it comes I wanna wail MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIL!
Mailbox then appears from Steve's window as he sits back down in the Thinking Chair.
Mailbox: Hi Steve, I have a SPECIAL letter today!
Steve: Why thank you, Mailbox!
Mailbox opens his head and Steve takes out a letter, which is white and has the Super Smash Bros. symbol on it.
Steve: We just got a letter! We just got a letter! We just got a letter! I wonder who it's from?
Steve opens the letter, revealing a video of Masahiro Sakurai.
Steve: Oh look, it's a letter from our friends.
Masahiro Sakurai: Hello Steve, I am Masahiro Sakurai, and I am here to tell you some special news. Your dog Blue has been invited to join the battle in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as the first fighter of Fighters Pass Vol. 3. I hope you will enjoy seeing your best friend on the battlefield!
Steve: Wait a minute, is that right!?
Masahiro Sakurai: It is right.
Steve: Blue, is this what you were invited to?
Blue appears on-screen and happily nods. She then skidoos into the letter.
Steve: Look, Blue just skidooed into the letter! Let's follow her! Blue skidoo'ed, we can too!
Steve then skidoos into the letter, both him and Blue appearing in Final Destination. Masahiro Sakurai then walks up to them and bows.
Masahiro Sakurai: I see you figured out her game of Blue's Clues as well.
Steve: That's right! We just figured out Blue's Clues!
Steve and Masahiro Sakurai: We just figured out Blue's Clues! We just figured out Blue's Clues! We just figured out Blue's Clues! 'Cause we're really smart!
Blue then hops on-screen, morphs into a 3D model, and the tagline appears.
BLUE MAKES HER MARK!
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate x Blue's Clues is the name of the collaboration between Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Nick Jr.'s Blue's Clues. As part of the Fighters Pass Vol. 3, content from Blue's Clues appears in the game, including Blue as a new playable character, Steve's House as a stage, as well as music and Spirits from the series. Additionally, in a similar vein to the representation of Fatal Fury and SNK's other franchises, several other characters from Nick Jr.'s other shows make appearances as well, including cameos, Spirits, and Mii costumes. Music from these series are also included.
The inclusion of Blue would kick off Fighters Pass Vol. 3. Though officially revealed at The Game Awards 2022, at the same time the trailer played during commercial brakes in between reruns of Blue's Clues, as well as on Nick Jr.
Challenger Pack #12[]
As part of Challenger Pack #12, the following content was added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Blue[]

Final Smash | Blue's Skidoo Adventure |
The main character of Blue's Clues, Blue is added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a playable newcomer, listed as Fighter #82. Her design is based off of her 3D model in Blue's Clues & You!. Traci Paige Johnson's voice performance of Blue across the entire franchise have been repurposed for her appearance in Ultimate, unlike similarly animalistic characters such as Bowser, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and King K. Rool who have generic animal grunts. Her inclusion marks the first character in the series who originated from a television series, and by extension the first who didn't originate from a video game.
Blue is a lightweight fighter with quick movement speed. Her walk, run, and air speed are all above average, and she has respectable jump height and slow falling speed. She is the second-lightest character in the game, at 64 units, being between Pichu (62) and Jigglypuff (68). Her entire moveset is a mixed bag, having options available for any situation, from fast combo moves, to useful combo starters and finishers, and both close- and long-range attacks. Notably, she uses her ears for some of her attacks, which can grant her a lot of range.
Also helping her is her Fighter Ability, revolving around paw prints. Any attack that utilizes her paws, notably her neutral special Paw Print, will place a blue paw print over the opponent. This paw print will gradually shrink until it disappears, though using more paw attacks on opponents will increase its size. This can be seen as similar to Inkling's ink mechanic, where covering opponents in ink makes them take more damage from attacks, though Blue's paw prints work the inverse way; rather than allowing Blue to deal more damage, opponents with a paw print on them will deal less damage and knockback to Blue. This both hinders the opponent and significantly improves Blue's survivability, especially compared to other characters in her weight class like Jigglypuff. However, Blue cannot place paw prints on opponents while they are shielding.
However, Blue is not without her weaknesses. Her aforementioned light weight, while alleviated slightly by her paw prints, is still very fragile, and powerful characters like Bowser and Ganondorf are able to KO her in a few attacks. Another problem to her survivability is her recovery, which in spite of the good amount of vertical and horizontal distance it offers, is easily predictable and can be gimped by opponents easily. She is especially vulnerable to meteor smashes. Lastly, her grab game is rather pitiful, having no kill throws, little combo potential, and a short grab range.
Overall, Blue is a versatile lightweight fighter, who specializes as a "jack of all trades, master of none". She can play aggressive with her long ranged attacks, and her good recovery allows her to go deep for edgeguarding and gimps. Her long-ranged projectiles are also able to keep opponents at bay and play defensively, and all these properties are strengthened by her paw prints. However, one must be careful when using her, as her weaknesses can be taken advantage of by other characters on the roster, especially heavyweights.

Steve's House is the main setting of Blue's Clues; Blue lives in this house with Steve and the rest of her friends. She often initiates a game of Blue's Clues here, where she leaves paw prints on things that are supposed to be clues to be the answer to a problem or question. It consists of a living room, a kitchen, a bedroom, and a bathroom, as well as a backyard. The house is set on a grassy hill in a neighborhood.
As a stage in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, players will battle outside the house. It is mostly a flat plane, which extends to the left and rightmost blast zones. Similar to Tortimer Island, trees and be placed in random places along the stage, which serve as platforms. The house is always visible in the center of the stage.
In addition, in an identical manner to King of Fighters Stadium, background characters will make cameos just outside of the stage. Many of them are from Blue's Clues, though sometimes characters from other Nick Jr. shows can appear as well. These include Dora the Explorer, Oswald, Franklin, Wonder Pets, Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!, The Backyardigans, Bubble Guppies, and PAW Patrol. If music from a certain Nick Jr. series is playing, then one of their characters will always show up. In the case of Blue's Clues characters, those who can be summoned with Blue's down special will quickly disappear from the background, appear by Blue and attack, and return to their background position upon disappearing.

The following lists all of the possible background characters that can appear in the background of Steve's House. There are 33 total, though only five can appear at once.
