No Smash Bros. game would be complete without Nintendo's red-and-blue mascot! For the most part, Mario retains his balanced and dependable moveset from previous titles. There is one big change, though - the implementation of his new Bonneter ally, Cappy, into his moveset with Cappy Toss Side Special! He can't possess enemies with this attack, unfortunately, but the extra ranged options and unorthodox movement techniques that this unique projectile attack grants him will definitely come in handy!

Standard Fireball
Mario tosses a fireball forwards. This fireball bounces across the ground a little before vanishing. By charging the attack for a short moment, Mario can throw a larger and slower fireball that explodes upon impact with an enemy.
Side Cappy Toss
Mario throws his hat forwards like a boomerang. Imputting the move like a Smash attack causes the hat to hover briefly in the air at the end of its flight path, and during this state he can jump off of it for extra height.
Up Super Jump Punch
Mario jumps into the air, striking any foes in his way with an uppercut attack as he rises. An average vertical recovery move.
Down Cape
Mario swings a golden cape in front of him, reflecting projectiles and flipping opponents around.
Final Smash Mario Finale
Mario's hands suddenly ignite, and he unleashes a massive cone of swirling fire from his palms. Though it isn't the flashiest or most powerful Final Smash, the constant fire damage can drag enemies off-screen easily.

Just like no Smash Bros. would be complete without Mario, no game with Mario in it would be quite the same if his green-clad sibling wasn't a step behind him! Luigi's Standard Sppecial has been replaced with the Thunderhand, which stuns enemies briefly instead of dealing fire damage, but his moveset remains almost entirely unchanged. Perhaps this is how he chooses to continue his slow process of stepping out of Mario's shadow...?

Standard Thunderhand
Luigi tosses a thunderbolt forwards. This thunderbolt fires straight forwards a short distance, spiraling through the air, before vanishing, and stuns struck enemies. By charging the attack for a short moment, Luigi can throw a larger and slower thunderbolt that stuns enemies for longer.
Side Green Missile
Luigi hurtles forward head-first, slamming into enemies. The move can be charged to increase the distance and damage of the attack. The move may also sometimes "misfire," reaching maximum charge and power immediately.
Up Super Jump Punch
Luigi jumps into the air, striking any foes in his way with an uppercut attack as he rises. Hitting the move just right makes it extra powerful!
Down Luigi Cyclone
Luigi spins around wildly, catching enemies in a whirlwind of blows before knocking them away.

The ever-elegant and always-adorable ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom, a benevolent princess who has a bad habit of being on the radar of some very powerful and very devious individuals. She also has a history of going on adventures herself, though, so she isn't helpless by any means! Peach's ability to float in the air gives a whole new perspective on her aerial combat, and the turnips she can pluck with her Down Special make for a unique and unpredictable projectile option.

Standard Toad
Peach hides behind Toad for a brief moment. If Toad gets hit, he releases a cloud of harmful spores as a counterattack.
Side Peach Bomber
Peach performs a lunging attack hip-first. Hitting an enemy with the attack will release a heart-shaped explosion that blows them away.
Up Peach Parasol
Peach leaps upwards with her parasol extended upwards, dragging enemies along with her. Then, she opens her parasol and drifts downwards. She can open and close her parasol freely to control her falling speed until she hits the ground.
Down Vegetable
Peach reaches into the earth and pulls out a vegetable, which she can throw around to damage enemies. Sometimes, she can even pluck a Bob-omb, or a Mr. Saturn. I wonder what those were doing in the ground...

The tyrant king of the Koopa Kingdom, and public enemy number one of the Mushroom Kingdom. Bowser's overall moveset remains mostly unchanged from previous interations - like always, he makes up for his slow movement speed with some shockingly sudden and merciless attacks. The only change worth noting is that his realistic and draconian roars from previous Smash titles are gone, and he now sounds much closer to how he sounds in the Mario games.

As one of Bowser's eight sons, this meddlesome little guy is the heir apparent of his kingdom. For a while, he was seemingly under the impression that Princess Peach was his mother... but in reality, he just wanted an excuse to spend some time with dear old dad and trade blows with Mario! Bowser Jr. relies heavily on his Koopa Clown Car in battle, and he has a wide array of odd tricks up his sleeve for dealing with enemies at a distance. In a pinch, he can even abandon it for an extreme height boost... but it's one of the riskiest recovery options in the game.

Rosalina & Luma Super Mario
The mysterious and beautiful queen of the cosmos, who travels across the stars with her Luma "children" in the Comet Observatory. She has helped Mario on his adventures many times before, most particularly during his first voyage into space. In Super Smash Bros., Rosalina does not fight alone. She is accompanied by a Luma guardian, who can protect her at melee range or separate to fight distant opponents. If the Luma takes enough damage, though, it can be K.O.'d, leaving Rosalina significantly more vulnerable. Knowing when to dispatch and recall Luma is key to performing well as Rosalina!

NEW FIGHTER!
A version of Mario from a completely flat world which operates by some very different rules than the ones the "main" Mario is used to. Things tend to get a lot more uncanny and eerie over there... but fortunately, the red-clad plumber's helpful nature is basically a universal constant! Paper Mario plays oddly similarly to the original Mario, as one would expect, with a balanced moveset that provides plenty of helpful tools regardless of how he fights; but his heavier emphasis on hammer-based attacks and his fittingly paper-like weight bring a totally different dimension to his playstyle.
Paper Mario's Special Moves

Standard Hammer Throw
Paper Mario pulls back his Hammer briefly, then hurls it forwards. It bounces across the ground and damages struck enemies. The longer he holds the hammer back for, the farther it will fly when he throws it.
Side Spin Smash
Paper Mario pulls back his Hammer briefly, then spins around rapidly with it extended outwards, knocking away nearby enemies. The longer he holds the hammer back for, the faster he'll spin. He can even hover briefly when he's spinning at his fastest.
Up Spring Jump
Paper Mario crumples his body, then suddenly uncrumples, springing himself high into the air. Damages enemies in his path with a fast but relatively weak headbutt.
Down Flip
Paper Mario flips into the third dimension, briefly becoming invisible. He then returns to the second dimension. Tilting the control stick while he is vanished can move him to a different spot, and holding an attack button while reappearing causes him to swing his hammer at nearby enemies.

On a good day, Donkey Kong lives a lazy and carefree life with his extended family and his vast stockpile of bananas on Donkey Kong Island. On a bad day, though, some fiend will attempt to steal his bananas away. That generally doesn't end too well for them. Donkey Kong is surprisingly fast and incredibly powerful, with many of his best attacks powering through damage to strike home. However, between his high fall speed and his sub-par vertical recovery, it can actually be pretty easy to K.O. him at times.

Every age, when an evil presence threatens to swallow the land of Hyrule, a blonde boy wielding the Master Sword will appear and vanquish the evil presence. This particular incarnation of the legendary hero failed the first time around, but he has returned after 100 years to finish the job and end the calamity facing the kingdom. Link's specialty is ranged combat; he possesses a plethora of long-distance attacks that can easily be used to force opponents closer. However, his melee ability is held back by his poor mobility.

Standard Bow and Arrows

Link slowly draws his bow, then fires an arrow forwards. The longer it is drawn for, the farther the arrow will fly. Additionally, Link can pick up discarded arrows to fire two arrows with one shot.

Link throws a Boomerang forwards. The projectile flies forward a short distance, then returns back to Link.
Up Spin Attack
Link spins around with his sword extended, slashing up enemies around him. Using it in midair causes him to ascend upwards.
Down Remote Bomb
Link pulls out a glowing blue Remote Bomb, which he can then throw. Using this move when a Remote Bomb is already on the arena will cause him to remote detonate it using his Sheikah Slate, damaging enemies near it. It will also automatically explode after enough time as passed, or if struck by a fire attack.
Final Smash Ancient Bow and Arrow

Ganondorf The Legend of Zelda
The King of Evil once again rises from the ashes in a new form, ready to challenge the hero and the princess! In Endeavor, Ganondorf returns to the giant Twilight Princess design. This time, though, he's taking inspiration from his Ultimate incarnation's fighting style and making the Sword of the Six Sages a significantly more prominent part of his attacks. This change gives his range and attack speed a little extra kick without sacrificing the durability, power, or sheer brutality that made his moveset so... interesting to begin with.

Standard Warlock Blade

Ganondorf slowly draws the Sword of the Six Sages while enveloping it in dark magic, then thrusts it forward for an immensely powerful attack with a shield-breaking sweetspot at the very tip.
Side Flame Choke
Ganondorf charges forward on a wave of darkness. Hitting an enemy causes him to grab their throat and slam them into the ground, leaving them lying helpless. This even happens in midair.
Up Dark Dive
Ganondorf rises upwards on a wave of darkness. Hitting an enemy causes him to grab them and leap off of them for some explosive damage and an extra boost.
Down Wizard's Lunge
Ganondorf cloaks his body in shadows and performs a powerful dashing stab attack with the Sword of the Six Sages. On the ground, the move travels forwards, while in the air, it travels straight downwards.
Final Smash Beast Ganon
Ganondorf transforms into his enormous bestial form, slams the ground with his forearms to stun enemies, then charges forward. Enemies that don't dodge out of the way take massive damage.

Young Link The Legend of Zelda
One particular Link started out his adventure as a child, and embarked on adventures that had him jumping back and forth in time by seven years and reliving the same three days over and over. Though this "Young Link" uses a fighting style vaguely similar to Link's, he performs some of his attacks slightly differently, and uses completely different items altogether for his Special Moves. He's smaller and nimbler than his older counterpart, too.

Standard Fire Arrow
Young Link slowly draws his bow, then fires an flaming arrow forwards. The longer it is drawn for, the farther the arrow will fly. If the arrow hits a surface, it briefly lingers on the stage and can damage enemies that touch it.
Side Boomerang
Young Link throws a Boomerang forwards. The projectile flies forward a short distance, then returns back to Link.
Up Spin Attack
Young Link spins around with his sword extended, slashing up enemies around him. Using it in midair causes him to ascend upwards.
Down Bombchu
Young Link pulls out a Bombchu, which he can then throw. The Bombchu moves forward across whatever surface it lands on and explodes after a set amount of time, or when it collides with an enemy.
Final Smash Fierce Deity
Young Link transforms into the Fierce Deity using a mask and releases a pulse of dark magic. Hitting an enemy with the pulse locks them in place, allowing him to wail on them with his giant sword before finishing with a powerful stab. In other words, it is statistically identical to Triforce Slash.

NEW FIGHTER!
The tiny cellist of the Forest Haven, later revealed to be the new Sage of Wind - one of the two sages who would help Link reawaken the evil-slaying power of the Master Sword. He has a bad habit of falling into trouble, but at least this time he has the tools he needs to get out of it. He is a nimble featherweight who can manipulate the wind itself to hinder enemies' attempts to get close to him.

Standard Wind's Requiem
With a wave of one stubby arm, Makar casts a spell that creates a gust of wind that lasts for about ten seconds. The wind can blow around items, enemies, even Makar himself. Its direction is based on the directional input performed during the animation.
Side Command Melody
Makar summons a wooden effigy that is suddenly brought to life by a magic spell. It automatically marches forward, pushing fighters and potentially damaging them if it can catch them with a stomp attack. Depending on how Makar's wind is blowing, its movement patterns can vary drastically.
Up Deku Leaf
Makar pulls out his helicopter-like Deku Leaf and rises into the air on an updraft, dragging enemies up with him, then slowly glides downwards. He can't attack in this state, but he can use Wind's Requiem, and is affected more than usual by changes in the wind while gliding downwards.
Down Deku Seed
Makar plants a seed in the ground. Using this move again will cause the seed to suddenly sprout into a small tree, damaging any fighters directly above it. The tree lingers on the battlefield for a short time, during which it can block movement, but automatically despawns very quickly.
Final Smash Ballad of Gales
Makar pulls out his cello and plays a magic song, whipping up a hurricane that sucks enemies into it before hurling them into the air.

It sometimes appears as a starter Pokémon, and is actually the most widely recognized Pokémon in the world... Probably because it's so cute and cheerful all the time! NEW FIGHTER!
One of the mysterious Ultra Beasts that emerged from a wormhole in reality. It secretes a mysterious toxin which can cause people to act erratically and violently. Unfortunately, this particular ability is useless in Smash Bros. since everybody's fighting already anyway, but it still has plenty of other devious powers. Chief among them is Trick Room, which lets it turn its floatiness and light weight into a weapon that it can use against opponents. Its ability to lay traps and reflect projectiles means it can perform very well at a distance.

Nihilego's Special Moves
Click to Toggle!
Standard Trick Room
Nihilego uses an eerie power to swap its movement speed, fall speed, and weight with the last fighter it damaged. Using Trick Room again undoes these changes, returning both Nihilego and its target to normal. Their stats also return back to normal after enough time passes, one of them is K.O.'d.
Side Mirror Coat
Nihilego briefly creates a shimmering barrier in front of it. Projectiles bounce harmlessly off this barrier, but it takes a bit of timing to use it properly.
Up Headbutt
Nihilego puffs up then "swims" upwards like a jellyfish, striking enemies above it with its head. An easy-to-predict recovery move due to the animation at the start, but afterwards it is surprisingly quick.
Down Stealth Rock
Nihilego spins around, creating a trap of floating rocks that hovers in the air. Enemies that move into this trap will slowly take damage, but not knockback. Using Stealth Rock again will destroy any trap the user already has placed.

NEW FIGHTER!
A Pokémon Trainer whose mother works at Orre's Pokémon HQ Lab to develop technology for combating the rise of Shadow Pokémon, whose emotions have been artificially removed to turn them into fighting machines. Michael uses the Snag Machine fitted to his arm to reclaim Shadow Pokémon so that the lab can return them to normal. In Smash, he fights right alongside his trusty Eevee, a small but zippy partner with some fast physical attacks. Unlike in the original games, though, his Eevee is actually a Shadow Pokémon, and its emotional state is highly volatile.

Michael & Eevee's Special Moves
Click to Toggle!
Gimmick Reverse Mode
Michael and Eevee have a Shadow Gauge that rises as they deal or receive damage. When the Gauge is filled, Eevee's emotions will reach a fever pitch, and it will enter Reverse Mode. In this state, its powers as a Shadow Pokémon are drawn out, increasing its speed and power while also causing it to hurt itself with each hit.
Standard Bite
Eevee summons forth large jaws made of shadowy energy, which it holds open as long as the Special button is held. Enemies that run into the jaws will be trapped in a bite, during which mashing the Special button deals rapid damage.
Side Snag Ball
Michael pulls out a Premier Ball and throws it forwards. It doesn't have any Pokémon inside of it, unfortunately, so it just bounces across the ground and damages struck enemies. Charging it briefly bathes it in energy from the Snag Machine, increasing its range and power... while also giving it the unusual ability to turn Pokémon summoned with the Poké Ball item into Michael's allies just by hitting them.
Up Take Down
A rising tackle attack with Eevee leading the way and Michael following close behind. The move deals slight recoil damage to the user upon hitting an enemy with it, even outside of Reverse Mode, meaning it tends to fill up the Shadow Gauge faster than other moves.
Down Helping Hand
Michael takes a moment to crouch next to his Eevee and rally it up. If the two aren't interrupted during this time, their attack power is boosted and they regain a little bit of health. If they are interrupted by an enemy attack, however, the Shadow Gauge rises a lot more than usual. Either way, attempting to use Helping Hand twice in a row will have no effect.
Alt. Down Call
While in Reverse Mode, Helping Hand becomes Call. With some words of encouragement from Michael, Eevee sheds its shadowy aura in a volatile explosion of darkness. This move completely drains the Shadow Gauge, reverts Eevee back to its normal state, and deals damage proportional to the amount of recoil damage Eevee racked up during its time in Reverse Mode.
Final Smash Gale of Darkness
Michael pulls out a Master Ball and releases XD001, a Shadow Lugia, which uses Shadow Storm to create a tornado of darkness. Enemies caught inside the tornado will be held in the air as Shadow Lugia follows up with Shadow Blast, a wicked projectile attack that crushes the trapped enemies.

A bounty hunter whose parents were killed by space pirates when she was a child. Samus was raised by the Chozo, a civilization of technologically advanced bird people, and as a result she is able to use Chozo weaponry due to her compatible DNA. Her signature weapon is the Chozo-made Power Suit, a highly adaptable and easy-to-augment suit of armor equipped with an arm-mounted energy cannon. NEW FIGHTER!
The oldest member of the current Star Fox team, and one of the members of the original Star Fox led by James McCloud. He serves as a voice of experience for the rest of the team, though he has a bad habit of nagging them a little at times. Peppy possesses an airborne versatility and attack speed befitting a hare, though this comes at a cost of attack power, which can give him some difficulty when it comes to finishing opponents off.

Peppy's Special Moves
Click to Toggle!
Standard Blaster
Peppy draws a one-handed blaster and fires a laser beam forwards to damage distant enemies. Peppy's Blaster deals low damage and hitstun, and fires at a rate somewhere between Fox and Falco's. Additionally, it draws and holsters much faster than the others', and while in midair it fires diagonally downwards.
Side Peppy Mirage
After a brief pause, Peppy dashes forward instantly, leaving a trail of illusions that damage enemies in his path. Peppy's dash can be angled upwards or downwards, and travels noticeably farther than the others' dashes.
Up Fire Hare
Peppy bathes himself in flames, then charges forward in any direction like a meteor. Like Fire Fox, the charge only hits once, but exchanges some power for significantly more recovery. Oddly, the flames surrounding Peppy can also reflect projectiles...
Down Reflector
Peppy activates a barrier that causes projectiles to bounce harmlessly off of him. Peppy's Reflector does not deal any damage, and only pushes enemies away; however, its end lag is significantly lower compared to the others' Reflectors.

NEW FIGHTER!
A member of a family of identical-looking shopkeeper who sometimes dabble in lockpicking, swordplay, archery, and sometimes even commanding troops! This particular Anna plays very closely to most of her sisters, with an emphasis on fast movement and magical trickery in order to get the upper hand against opponents. In particular, her Warp Staff and Acrobatics moves are useful for playing mind games with enemies, while her Astra make her extremely effective against enemies that shield often.
Anna's Special Moves
Click to Toggle!
Standard Shining Bow
Anna slowly draws her bow, then fires an arrow forwards. The longer it is drawn for, the farther the arrow will fly.
Side Astra
After briefly charging energy in her sword, Anna unleashes a rapid flurry of five strikes that can quickly chip away at enemies and their shields.
Up Warp Staff
Using a magic staff, Anna teleports into a different spot in a flash of magical light. Both her disappearance and her reappearance can damage enemies.
Down Acrobatics
Anna leaps forwards while twirling through the air. Landing on an enemy in this state causes Anna to bounce off of their head and knock them downwards. Alternatively, hitting an attack button before hitting an enemy causes her to suddenly change direction and perform a dashing slash attack.
Final Smash Great Astra
Anna casts a spell that freezes enemies in front of her. Upon successfully casting the spell, she draws her sword and begins attacking the enemy at a speed too fast to comprehend. She finishes them off with an upwards slash that sends them hurtling skyward.

NEW FIGHTER!
The reigning World Champion of the WVBA! That is, until that pint-sized underdog Little Mac somehow managed to fell this giant and claim the belt for himself. Now, he's come to Smash Bros. seeking to put his rivalry with Little Mac to rest for good! Mr. Sandman uses attacks similar to Mac's (they are both boxers in the same circuit, after all!), but his fighting style focuses more on overwhelming power and brutality. He can take more hits and deal more damage, and he has a deceptively versatile toolset, but he's also a lot less agile and easy to read... if you know where to look.
Mr. Sandman's Special Moves

Gimmick Winking
Nearly all of Mr. Sandman's specials have alternate variations that can be used by inputting them as Smash attacks instead of regular attacks. These variations look nearly identical during the start-up, except for the fact that Sandman will wink when using a variation.
Standard Dream Uppercut
Mr. Sandman charges energy in his muscles, then performs a powerful uppercut that knocks enemies into the air. The longer it's charged for, the more power it has. At max charge, it gets a bigger boost, but has a bunch of extra end lag too.
Side Driving Haymaker
Mr. Sandman performs a downward punch that makes up for its extremely sluggish start with its ability to bury enemies in the ground, leaving them open for further punishment.
Alt. Side Crushing Haymaker
Inputting Driving Haymaker like a Smash attack transforms the move into Crushing Haymaker. The attack completely shatters struck enemies' shields instead of burying them.
Up Rising Uppercut
Mr. Sandman rises into the air while twirling around rapidly, dragging enemies with him and finishing them off with an upwards punch. Unlike Mac's version of the move, Sandman can at least "aim" it for some horizontal recovery.
Down Berserker Rage
Mr. Sandman covers his front with his arms for a brief moment. If he isn't struck while in this state, he receives a surge of power, increasing the damage and knockback of his attacks temporarily.
Alt. Down Berserker Counter
Inputting Berserker Rage like a Smash attack transforms the move into Berserker Counter. If he gets hit, he retaliates with a powerful attack. Berserker Counter doesn't grant him any sort of power buff, though, even if he isn't hit.
Final Smash Dreamland Express
Mr. Sandman pulls back one arm, then unleashes a volley of mighty uppercuts, alternating arms each time. Even a single hit is guaranteed to K.O., but the attack's range is severely limited.

NEW FIGHTER!
A tiny robot designed for day-to-day household maintenance like cleaning. All he really wants is to bring people joy... and if the excitement of Smash Bros. brings joy to the fighters, then he's more than willing to give fighting a shot! Despite his tiny size, Chibi-Robo is a bit on the slow and heavy side, and boasts a more defense-oriented playstyle utilizing a variety of small household items. How fitting for somebody who doesn't fight most of the time!
Chibi-Robo's Special Moves
Click to Toggle!
Standard Squirter
Chibi-Robo pulls out a toy squirter and slowly fires a stream of bubbles out of it. This move operates similar to fire breath attacks - it rapidly damages close enemies, but using it for too long causes the range and power of the attack to rapidly decrease.
Side Toothbrush
Chibi-Robo moves forward while scrubbing at the ground with a toothbrush, repeatedly chipping away at grounded enemies. This move is special in that it destroys special terrain effects (Pitfalls, C4, Inkling's Ink, etc.) without triggering them.
Up Chibi-Copter
A propeller pops out of Chibi-Robo's head and rapidly spins around, abruptly raising him into the air. Upon reaching the height of his ascent, he begins to slowly glide downwards.
Down Mug
Chibi-Robo hides inside of a coffee mug, and stays inside until he tries to do anything other than move, or gets hit by an attack. While in the mug, he can only slowly move left and right, but the mug nullifies projectiles and reduces physical damage.
Final Smash Giga-Charger Overload
Chibi-Robo channels an immense load of electrical energy into the Giga-Battery, causing its charger to suddenly explode from the strain. The explosion deals heavy electrical damage to enemies that are too close.

NEW FIGHTER!
A BLADE colonel at the head of the Reclaimers, a division specialized in salvaging scrap from the White Whale spacecraft after its crashlanding on Mira. As a Full Metal Jaguar-class soldier, her specialty is fast, positioning-based combat with dual-wielded weaponry. She is easily capable of outmaneuvering enemies with her fast movement speed, and her signature attack, Shadowstrike, lets her take full advantage of this.
Elma's Special Moves
Click to Toggle!
Standard Shadowstrike
Elma leaps into the air and performs a downward slash attack with her blades. The power of the attack is increased if it hits an enemy in the back.
Side Sliding Slinger
Elma slides across the ground a short distance while firing her guns diagonally forwards. An ideal countermeasure against opponents using high projectiles. In the air, the attack is angled downwards instead.
Up Stream Edge
Elma spins around rapidly with her blades extended, catching enemies in her path and carrying them up with her, before finishing them off with a vertical slash.
Down Ghost Factory
Elma briefly lowers her guard as mirages appear around her. When struck in this state, she will fly through the attack unharmed like a literal ghost and appear behind the attacker. Though a non-damaging counterattack, it allows Elma to perform other actions like attacks or jumps almost as soon as she reappears, and slightly delays the end of the opponent's countered attack.
Final Smash Skell Overdrive
Elma calls in her partner, Lin, who appears in the foreground in a Skell and launches a barrage of lasers and missiles and gunfire enemies.

Gimmick Ink Tank

Some of Inkling's attacks cover their enemy with colorful ink. The more ink the enemy's covered in, the more damage Inkling's attacks will do to them. However, using ink will drain Inkling's Ink Tank, and emptying it will leave her attacks weaker and more sluggish than they would be otherwise. The Ink Tank can be refilled just by holding the Special Button while shielding, which causes her to dive into the ground in squid form, but doing so can leave her vulnerable to enemy attacks.

NEW FIGHTER!
The overeager underdog of the ARMS Grand Prix, recognizable by his coiled blue pompadour and his desire to become a champion fighter! With a goal like that, there's no way he wouldn't show up in Smash at some point. Spring Man's claim to fame is immense reach and power using his extendable ARMS, so in a close-range fight, he's a force to be reckoned with! That being said, he's a bit on the sluggish side because of his ARMS' extra weight...

Spring Man's Special Moves

Gimmick Charge
When rolling or shielding, pressing the Special Button causes Spring Man to Charge his ARMS. This temporary state increases his attack power and grants special effects to his attacks based on the ARMS he uses to perform them, but setting it up takes time...
Standard Spring Smash
Spring Man extends his right ARM, a Toaster, to punch forwards an impressive distance. The longer he winds up for, the farther the attack can reach. Deals fire damage when Charged.
Side Boomerang
Spring Man fires off the Boomerang on his left ARM. This projectile flies forward a short distance before curving around and coming back to Spring Man. Can drag enemies around with a tornado when Charged.
Up Spring Leap
Spring Man uses his ARMS as literal springs to launch himself upwards, headbutting anyone above him and potentially meteor smashing anyone underneath him. Deals fire damage when Charged.
Down Bouceback
Spring Man enters a blocking stance briefly. When struck in this state, he will swing his arms outwards, sending the opponent's attack back at them to send them flying. It can even reflect projectiles. This is the only move in his arsenal unaffected by Charge.
Final Smash Rush Pummel
Spring Man grabs at an enemy with both ARMS. Upon a successful grab, he unleashes an endless barrage of flaming punches, then finishes with an uppercut.

NEW FIGHTER!
The Chief of an Oasis in the Qarr Dunes, which he and the Water Spirit Esna hope to turn into a final bastion against the forces of Chaos while they engineer a counteroffensive. Between pushing away melee fighters with Green Gale, absorbing enemy projectiles with Rainbow Protection, and sniping foes with a Leaf Crossbow, Tethu is a particularly dangerous ranged combatant.
Tethu's Special Moves
Click to Toggle!
Standard Green Gale
Tethu charges a gust of wind around his body, then flings it forward in the form of a whirlwind that carries enemies backwards and deals low damage. The move can be charged, and has three "stages." Each stage has increased range and speed.
Side Leaf Crossbow
Tethu pulls out a crossbow and fires a shot out of it. Holding the Special button allows him to aim the crossbow in any direction before firing.
Up Paraflower
An unknown Seedling ally shoots out of the ground in their seed-like Paraflower form, with Tethu hanging off the bottom. They rise briefly before gliding back down. Tethu can still use aerial attacks, Green Gale, Leaf Crossbow, and Rainbow Protection while in this state.
Down Rainbow Protection
Tethu creates a shimmering barrier around his body with his Oasis's power. This barrier absorbs projectiles to restore his health.
Final Smash Rainbow Bloom
Tethu calls in Khepri and attempts to trap frontal enemies inside the bubble carried by the bug. Upon successfully trapping an enemy in Khepri combines his energy with that of the Water Spirit, Esna, and all the people of their Oasis. The result is an explosion of light that burns the trapped enemies.

Better known by the name Sonic the Hedgehog, or his title as the "Fastest Thing Alive." Sonic likes to chill out with his buddies and a couple chili dogs, but when Eggman starts plotting world domination, he is more than willing to step up and deal with him before things get out of hand. He is the fastest fighter in Smash Bros. by a wide margin, which can make him hard to control unless your timing is precise... but in the right hands, his hit-and-run fighting style and sheer mobility can make for devastating weapons.

NEW FIGHTER!
A metal doppelganger created by Dr. Eggman in the hopes of defeating his nemesis by outspeeding him. Of course, evil versions of main characters never actually triumph, but Sonic characters weren't as genre-savvy back then as they are now, so it's pretty excusable. Though Metal Sonic can match Sonic's speed almost perfectly, it is not an Echo Fighter; instead, by using its copying powers, its speed-boosting Maximum Overdrive mode, and its projectile-reflecting Black Shield, it manages to differentiate itself enough from the original hedgehog to win a spot in the main roster!

NEW FIGHTER!
The founder and leader of the GG's, an on-the-rise gang of graffiti artists based in Shibuya. Beat is a delinquent runaway with a love of music, particularly old vinyl records. He roams the streets of Tokyo-to with a pair of modified inline skates, which can make his ground movement significantly more "slippery" than other characters. However, Beat's fighting style is built around this slipperiness, and staying on the move while attacking is one of the major strengths of his fighting style.
Beat's Special Moves
Click to Toggle!
Gimmick Roller Skates
Beat is an expert with his roller skates, and he doesn't necessarily have to face the direction he's moving in. In fact, he will always face the same direction until he uses Turn Around to... well, turn around. As an interesting side-effect of this, Beat has a few moves that other fighters don't, such as a back tilt and a back Smash.
Standard Spray Can
Beat pulls out a can of spray paint and sprays it in the direction he's currently facing, leaving behind a cloud of paint that slows down enemies and deals gradual damage. As long as Special button is held down, Beat can continue spraying while moving or jumping, but if used for too long the spray will weaken and eventually die down entirely.
Side Battery Boost
This is Beat's "forward special," the Side special used when the directional input is the direction Beat is facing. Beat charges forwards, his body bathed in electricity from his supercharged skates. Enemies in his path get shocked out of the way by the dash.
Alt. Side Turn Around
This is Beat's "back special," the Side special used when the directional input is the direction Beat isn't facing. Beat turns around to face the other direction without losing any momentum. Holding the Special button while turning causes Beat to immediately go into a Battery Boost once he's changed directions.
Up Flying Kite Leap
Beat charges his skates and performs a super-powered leap into the air while kicking both feet outwards.
Down Powerslide
Beat performs a crouching slide to quickly halt his momentum, kicking up a shower of sparks in the direction he's moving and damaging enemies. If used while stationary or in the air, its range and power is pitiful; but if used in the middle of a Battery Boost...
Final Smash Tagged & Bagged
Beat jumps and kicks his feet out on either side of him. Successfully striking enemies on either side with the kick knocks them to the ground, where Beat proceeds to spray paint one of his signature tags onto the downed foes. Matching the inputs perfectly makes the graffiti's final design even more elaborate, but it doesn't affect the power of the move in any way - it is always an instant K.O. on enemies at high enough damage.

NEW FIGHTER!
A timid Black Mage who embarked on an adventure to discover his true identity (or perhaps reaffirm his old one) by pure accident when he went to see a certain play. He wields incredibly potent Black Magic, though he is afraid to use it. In Endeavor, Vivi's fighting style borrows very heavily from the Black Mage from Super Smash Flash 2 as a lightweight with some one-of-a-kind combo options... but it also includes a hint of Cloud's with the inclusion of his Trance form, which functions similarly to Limit Break.
Vivi's Special Moves
Click to Toggle!
Gimmick Trance
Vivi has a Trance Gauge that rises as he deals or receives damage. When the Gauge is filled, he enters Trance mode, during which his attacks are powered up for fifteen seconds. Unlike Cloud's Limit Break, Trance does not grant his Specials one-time power-ups, and instead they charge significantly faster than normal.
Standard Stop
Vivi gathers magical power, then unleashes it in a circle around him. Enemies close to him are briefly frozen by the spell. The longer the spell is charged for, the longer they are freezed for.
Side Meteor
Vivi summons a meteor that slowly grows in size and power for as long as the Special button is held. Releasing it fires the meteor.
Up Teleport
Vivi creates a ring of magic that he can aim freely as long as the Special button is held. Releasing it causes him to warp to the location of the ring instantly.
Down Focus
Vivi charges magical energy, causing the Trance Gauge to increase. If Vivi is hit in this state, he loses a chunk of the Trance Gauge.
Alt. Down Flare
When the Trance Gauge is full, Focus becomes Flare. Vivi unleashes a magical explosion of fire around him, draining a chunk of the Trance Gauge but dealing heavy damage.
Final Smash Doomsday
Vivi summons an immense meteor that hurtles downwards from above him, boring into enemies in a vertical line.

Neku The World Ends With You
NEW FIGHTER!
A teen with a bad attitude who just wanted to live a solitary life in Shibuya. And then he died. Now, Neku is a participant in the Reaper's Game, a week-long onslaught of missions across the whole city with the promise of resurrection for whoever survives until the final day. Neku fights alongside his Partner from his first week of the Reaper's Game, Shiki Misaki. By passing combos back and forth, the two are able to increase the power of their ESP-based attacks drastically... but this strategy makes them a lot more predictable than most other fighters, too.

Gimmick Light Puck
Some of Neku's attacks actually summon his Partner, Shiki Misaki, to attack with Mr. Mew. Alternating between combos with Neku's attacks and combos with Shiki's attacks can spawn the Light Puck, a green aura that boosts their power and even grants their attacks the ability to damage shielding enemies as long as they continue to stay in sync.
Standard Pyrokinesis
Neku places his hands on his headphones and manifests a flame using psychic energy. As long as the Special button is being held, he can move the flame left and right to burn distant enemies, though he is left vulnerable while doing so. If overused, the flame will run out of energy and enter a brief cooldown phase.
Side Groove Pawn
Shiki appears and uses Mr. Mew to perform a three-hit slashing combo on a distant enemy, ending with an uppercut. While Shiki is attacking with Groove Pawn, Neku can still move and attack.
Up Vulcan Uppercut
Neku rises upwards while creating a blade of psychic energy, resulting in an uppercut attack that drags enemies up into the air.
Down Psychokinesis
Neku uses a psychic power to manipulate small objects around him. The power nullifies projectiles, and pulls in and auto-equips items.
Final Smash Final Fusion
Neku synchronizes with all three of his partners - Shiki, Beat, and Joshua - at the same time, channeling them into his Fusion pin to unleash a massive beam of energy that traps enemies in its light before sending them hurtling away.

NEW FIGHTER!
An android warrior created by YoRHa to reclaim the surface of Earth for mankind after it was taken by an army of machines brought to life by aliens. She works alongside a Scanner named 9S, around whom she is distant and cold. 2B is a nimble fighter who is accompanied by Pod 042, a highly versatile assistant that she can customize on the fly to deal with her current situation. Between the Pod's projectiles and her twin swords, Virtuous Contract and Virtuous Treaty, she possesses a deceptively long reach.

Standard Pod 042
2B fires her Pod in the direction she's facing. The effect of the attack depends on the Pod equipped.Pod A fires a stream of bullets forwards and slightly upwards. Firing for too long causes the shots to weaken and eventually stop automatically. Pod B fires a weak laser beam directly forwards. Enemies in the laser's path take weak but rapid damage with no knockback. Pod C locks on to enemies close to and directly in front of 2B, then fires a barrage of missiles at them for explosive damage. The attack can target multiple enemies, but always fires the same number of missiles.
Side Pod Program
2B activates her Pod Program. The effect of the attack depends on the Pod Program equipped.2B's Pod fires a powerful laser directly forwards after charging up. If it misses, she's left vulnerable. 2B's Pod summons a holographic hammer that, after winding up, swings downwards to deal heavy damage. 2B creates a wave of spears from any ground directly below her, launching enemies into the air. 2B's Pod briefly creates a barrier that reflects enemy projectiles. 2B's Pod fires a wire forward. It can be used to pull 2B towards enemies, or to tether recover. 2B's Pod creates a field of energy that pulls in items, projectiles, and enemy fighters. 2B charges forwards at high speed while riding on her Pod, plowing through enemies.
Up Pod Vault
2B grabs onto the bottom of her Pod and swings upwards off of it, somersaulting into the air while Virtuous Contract spins around her.
Down Switch Pods
2B pulls up a holographic display with which to edit her Pod. While continuing to hold the Special button, using the control stick cycles through different Pods and Pod Programs. While in this state, however, 2B is vulnerable to attacks.
Final Smash Die Already!
A Flight Unit flies in front of 2B, plowing through enemies in her path. Upon a successful hit, she jumps into it and circles back around, barraging the enemy with gunfire. She finishes off by leaping from the Flight Unit and impaling the trapped foes with Virtuous Treaty, creating a massing explosion.

NEW FIGHTER!
A thickskulled member of the Nanairo Planetary Patrol who discovered the Spectrobe-commanding Prizmod device in a mysterious wreckage, and used their power to protect his star system from an invasion of parasitic Krawl. He goes into fights alongside a large green creature with a mace-like tail called Spikan. The two cover each others' weaknesses in battle - Rallen hits fast but doesn't have much power, while Spikan is powerful but sluggish.

Gimmick Spikan
Rallen is accompanied by a type of Spectrobe called a Spikan, which follows him around in battle. When using certain moves, Spikan will join in and perform an attack as well. It can also be separated from Rallen under special circumstances, allowing the two to fight separately.
Standard Cosmo Blaster
Rallen fires a laser out of a wrist-mounted blaster to attack a distant enemy. Best used for stunning distant foes so Spikan can perform an attack without interruption.
Side Spike Wave
Spikan gathers energy in its mace-like tail, then spins it around to strike enemies. Charging longer gives the move more power, and when its power is maxed out, it releases a wave of energy that travels across the ground.
Up Hammerslash
Rallen performs a quick slash upwards, followed by another one downwards. If Spikan is with him, it will perform a similar attack with its tail.
Down Order
Rallen orders Spikan to charge forward a set distance, forcibly separating the two. Using this move again calls Spikan back to Rallen.
Final Smash Charge Thunderbolt
Spikan is flooded with energy from Rallen's Prizmod, and an enormous bolt of lightning is released from its body. Enemies struck by the bolt are briefly paralyzed before they're sent flying, giving Rallen an opportunity to wail on them.

NEW FIGHTER!
An alien from the lush, Earth-like planet of the same name. When the planet Meteo bombarded its homeworld with meteors called Meteos, it was saved by chance when three Meteos of the same color aligned, causing them to blast off into space. Now, aboard the Metamo Ark mothership, the Geolytes embark on a cosmic road trip to save other planets and defeat Meteo! In Smash Bros., Geolyte weaponizes Meteos, using them as platforms to recover or to launch enemies into the sky. With a bit of strategy and luck, it can set off incredibly satisfying aerial combos without a single jump!

Geolyte's Special Moves

Gimmick Meteos
Meteos are chunks of colored ore created by the planet Meteo. Many of Geolyte's Special moves create Meteos. There are three "types" of Meteos - Air, H2O, and Soil - and when three or more of the same type align, they suddenly shoot into the air like a rocket, carrying enemies up with them. Meteos are also affected by gravity.
Standard Meteos Switch
A floating reticle appears in front of Geolyte. While the reticle is on-screen, the control stick moves the reticle instead of Geolyte. Holding the Special button while moving switches the location of Meteos in those spots. Pressing any other button causes the reticle to vanish, returning control back to Geolyte.
Side Meteos Throw
Geolyte pulls out a Meteos and throws it forwards, damaging enemies in its arcing path. The longer this move is charged, the farther and more powerful the throw.
Up Super Rocket
Geolyte uses a Super Rocket to launch itself into the air on a platform the size of three Meteos, then descend back downwards slowly. It can move freely on the platform or jump off it, but cannot use this move again until it lands back on the stage. If it uses this move while standing on Meteos, all the Meteos in the row below its feet are launched.
Down Speeder
Geolyte begins to dance rapidly as the flow of time accelerates. While it is dancing, Meteos will fall significantly faster - fast enough to damage any enemies they fall into.
Final Smash Annihilation
Geolyte begins to panic as planet Meteo appears in the background. Giant Meteos rain down from the sky, piling onto the stage and knocking enemies around. Then, the stage suddenly collapses under the weight for a few seconds... but eventually rises up again.

Shovel Knight Shovel Knight
NEW FIGHTER!
Long ago, the lands were untamed, and roamed by legendary adventurers like Shovel Knight and Shield Knight! But the two warriors' travels together ended when a cursed amulet wrought a terrible magic. Now, with the Order of No Quarter threatening the land, Shovel Knight comes out of his life of solitude to defend the free people from their tyranny! Shovel Knight's moveset is pulled directly from Rivals of Aether - he is a highly customizable heavyweight, but that customizing requires some... ahem... fundraising before it can be utilized.

Gimmick Treasure Trove
Whenever Shovel Knight damages an enemy, the enemy drops Treasure that Shovel Knight can pick up. Treasure can be spent by using Shovel Knight's Taunt to open Chester's shop. All the items in the shop either replace Shovel Knight's Neutral Special or grant his armor special effects.
Gimmick Armor
Shovel Knight can have certain special properties depending on what armor he has purchased most recently from Chester. After hitting a down aerial, Shovel Knight is able to perform any of his Smash attacks in midair as long as he does not get hit by an enemy first. Shovel Knight's resistance to knockback is increased, but his friction is decreased, making him a bit "slippery" and in some cases harder to control. Wearing this armor replaces Shovel Knight's usual animations with much flashier variants, meaning his hitboxes are technically different... but aside from that, this armor has no effect on gameplay. It just looks really, really nice.
Standard Relic
Shovel Knight uses the Relic he's purchased most recently from Chester, with different effects depending on the Relic used.If Shovel Knight has not purchased any Relics from Chester, his Neutral Special is Coin Capture, a non-damaging move that quickly draws in distant Treasure in a circle around Shovel Knight. Shovel Knight quickly punches forwards twice with a cyan gauntlet, releasing a short-range phantasmic fist with each punch. Shovel Knight pulls out a large horn and blows on it, releasing a wave of damaging sound around him to push back enemies and destroy incoming projectiles. Shovel Knight throws out a platform mounted on a gear. Once it hits a platform, the gear will sputter, then start to move forwards. It can be used both as a projectile attack and as a moving platform.
Side Propeller Dagger
Shovel Knight revs up the Propeller Dagger, then dashes forward with it, charging through enemies in his path for high damage. The more the Propeller Dagger is revved up, the farther Shovel Knight will fly with it.
Up Throwing Anchor
Shovel Knight hurls an anchor upwards. The anchor flies in an arching trajectory before dropping down on enemies from above. Holding the Special button while using this attack makes Shovel Knight cling to the anchor while it flies, turning it into a powerful melee attack that can be used for recovery.
Down Fishing Rod
Shovel Knight pulls out a fishing rod and drops the hook down, damaging any enemies in its path. Pressing any button while the hook is out will reel it back in. Using the move over a pit lets Shovel Knight fish up a piece of dirt containing Treasure, a golden fish worth a large amount of Treasure, or a Troupple that gives Shovel Knight an item (if items are turned on, anyway).
Final Smash Shovel of Hope
Shield Knight drops in from above and performs a forwards shield bash. Hitting enemies with the bash knocks them into the air. Shield Knight raises her shield above her head, and Shovel Knight uses it as a platform to leap into the air and perform a single magically-supercharged shovel drop on the airborne enemies to finish them off in one blow.
