Super Mario World U is a Mario game for the Wii U and was made by Cosmic Koopa Company. It is like the New Super Mario Bros. games and like the Super Mario Bros. games. It features many items, Power-ups, levels, enemies, and bosses. The new thing about this game is that it doesn't feature time like the previous Super Mario Bros. games, it is also the first side-scrolling Mario game to feature no time.
Story
During the night Bowser crashed into Princess Peach's Castle and kidnapped Princess Peach. In the morning Mario, Luigi, Yellow Toad, and Blue Toad came to the castle. A Toad explained to them what happened, soon the four all set out on a journey to save Princess Peach. As the four traveled through the worlds they noticed new places, enemies, and items. When the reached the the end of the first fortress their first boss they encountered was the Reznors, four mighty dinosaurs that shoot out fire. After they defeated them the group moved on to the castle, in the castle was Iggy Koopa. His battle was just like the battle Mario and Luigi encountered on their vacation to Dinosaur Land. They defeated him and they moved onto the next world the desert.
As the Bros. and the Toads traveled through various lands such as calming shorelines, dense forests, snowing regions, and towering mountains they faced many of Bowser's Koopalings as well as Bowser's minions. Soon they reached Bowser's Domain, the final world. The entire world consisted of lava, volcanoes and caves. The world featured a fortress, an airship, a tank, and a castle but Bowser's Castle wasn't in sight at all. When they reached the first fortress there were many enemies in it and the boss was Boom-Boom where they fought him for the last time. When they reached the Airship Bowser Jr. was there inside it. When they defeated him they moved onto the tank and there they defeated two Chargin' Chucks in the last tank. After passing the tanks the four moved on to the castle that didn't seem like it was Bowser's. Inside they fought Kamek in the castle and defeated him. Outside the four thought they were in trouble since there was no sign of Bowser but then his Castle emerged from the fiery lava.
Gameplay
Playing the game is just like any ordinary sidescrolling Mario game. It features elements from the New Super Mario Bros. series and also reuses elements from Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World. The game takes place in the Mushroom Kingdom as usual. It has Mario and friends grabbing items, defeating enemies and at the end of each level is the Flagpole. Instead of the game having three Star Coins it now has four of them in a level. The new thing in the sidescrolling series is that the time was taken out. The Hammer Suit appears as well as power-ups from New Super Mario Bros. Wii like the Ice Flower and the Penguin Suit. Yoshies can be ridden and Baby Yoshies can be carried. Baby Yoshies have the same abilites they had in New Super Mario Bros. U. Also Boost Mode is in the game so a fifth player can join in and use the Wii U GamePad to put colored blocks out to help the players. Unlike the usual eight worlds (not including special worlds) in the game there are now ten worlds and a special world. The P-Charge bar does not appear in the game when someone has the Super Leaf. When they are blinking yellow that means the player can fly into the air. Also the new power-up in the game called the Earth Rock can turn players into an Earthquake form. This allows them to jump onto the ground causing quakes which can defeat any enemies that are on the ground on-screen and make any Coins fall that are on-screen.
