Super Mario Odyssey 2 is a 3d platforming game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch and is a four player game. It is a sequel to Super Mario Odyssey.

Synopsis

The story revolves around Mario and Luigi working together to travel around the world to defeat Halfen, Bowser's father from using two katanas to destroy the world and destroy the Mario bros so Bowser can happily capture Princess Peach without anyone to intervene. Also the game introduces Homer, Cappy and Tiara's brother and the director of the secret airship field in Cap Kingdom.

Plot

Mario is about to jump and grab the last multi moon on the darkest side until the building splits in half releasing a bunch of spirits. Including the broodles , dinosaurs and more evil souls. Then a giant figure rises named halfen who strikes Mario and the Odyssey down back to earth. Mario and cappy wake up on delfino Isle. They run into Luigi who is residing nearby at Sunshine airport on vacation. The two find a floating pirate ship that has been terrorizing the island kingdom. Mario and Luigi travel there where they find Petey piranha. They defeat him but mount corona starts erupting so the Mario brothers arrive there. They find Bowser jr who was attacking the kingdom from "grandfather's orders" they defeat him and gain enough moons to travel back to the cap kingdom. When they arrive they see that a movie theater has been constructed along with a bigger shop. But cappy leads the two to the sometimes bridge where they jump down to a new area. The secret airship field. Cappy introduces the two to his father. Fedora who is the head of the secret airship field. Fedora tells them halfen is Bowser's deceased father who did such bad things in his life he was trapped in culmina crater. It was apparently the resting spot for all evil spirits. Now halfen wants his most powerful weapons. The Golden and silver katanas. Their chat is cut short however as the broodles back from the dead jump out. They have become more powerful and found new abilities. Topper jumps out with a new ability to spin on his hat. But Mario and Luigi beat him. Fedora states that halfen will throw whatever he has at the brothers to defeat them so they need to find where the katanas are. Info on the gold one is at wario's home City. And info on the silver katanas you can find at Yoshi's island. So the Luigi heads out on a brand new ship just for him called the voyager while Mario and cappy go on the Odyssey. But since Luigi needs a partner fedora introduces Homer cappy and tiaras brother. The two head out and a new adventure starts. In the money kingdom mario/luigi finds out that wario waste inc is closed to the public so mario/luigi can't find waluigi/wario to look in the archive at info on the gold katanas. Using cappy/Homer to capture a wario Ware worker they sneak in and navigate the zone Mario/Luigi find wario/waluigi instead of waluigi/wario. So a battle commences. Mario/Luigi wins and waluigi/wario comes out and helps his cousin with the archive they find out that it is behind a gateway that you need the silver katana to open. He also says that Rosalina might be able to help.
