History[]

Super Mario Odyssey Two (Styled and referred to as 'Super Mario Odyssey 2') was meant to be the upcoming 3d adventure game for the Nintendo Switch. It was originally planned to be published on 3rd of December 2023, with new locations to explore and new mechanics to use. However, similar to the delay of The Legend of Zelda: The Sword of Darkness, it was long forgotten about, and a new sequel was made.

Part 1[]

The plot itself starts with Bowser, who has lost the fight against Mario, and is eager to turn back the hands of time with the help of Kamek. Only the princess' gifts (Peach's Mushroom, Daisy's Flower and Rosalina's Star) can create the time machine Bowser needs. Meanwhile, in the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario, Cappy and his friends are holding a surprise party for Toadette’s 20th birthday. But, as night draws closer and the music gets louder, Bowser Junior - Bowser’s son - secretly slips into the scene and kidnaps Princess Peach, Princess Daisy and Princess Rosalina. Their cries grasped Mario’s attention as Bowser Junior flew away in his koopa clown car. Mario, Cappy, Hatty and Luigi enter the odyssey. (The Player does not get a go at running around Peach's Castle just yet) and the player can now travel to the Dinosaur Kingdom (Yoshi's island). The Yoshis here have all fled, meaning Bram Balls and more enemies have taken over this kingdom. Poison lakes have formed. There is a Yoshi Valley, only in the distance. There are a total of 67 moons here, 50 only unlockable once you have defeated the boss Mechanical Yoshi. Defeating him also means you can gain your first Multi Moon. Use this as fuel for the Odyssey so it can travel to the next furthest kingdom it can get to: the Coconut Kingdom (Isle Delfino). There are plenty more Shrine Sprites here. (This is equivalent to a moon). Super Mario Sunshine mini worlds are not playable. Under the surface of the water surrounding Isle Delfino Plaza are Cheep Cheeps, Eep Cheeps, Torpedo Teds, Bloopers, Deep Cheeps, Fish Bones, Porcupuffers and Cheep Chomps. Once at least 10 shrine sprites are caught, you can head to the Paper Kingdom (RoguePort) where Olivia and Olly (from Paper Mario: The Origami King) have returned and turned to the side of evil. This basically continues from the secret ending in The Origami King, where it seems Olivia and Olly have been folded back to life. After defeating both enemies and gaining enough origami-themed moons, you will be able to either enter the Flower Kingdom (Sarasaland) or head to the Sprixie Kingdom (Fairy Fountain) In the Sprixie Kingdom, which has been remodeled after Bowser's reign, Blue Bowser (Otherwise known as Bowser's Brother or Kokushibou), is stealing back the 'Magic Wand' (Kamek's long lost weapon) to take the three princess's gifts. Kokushibou uses the wand to create a Petey Piranha. Enter the battlefield and the fight begins! Petey will open his mouth for three seconds so as to spit at you. Dodge these attacks and a few more until a clock power up (Time Mushroom) will appear. Use this to freeze time when Petey's mouth is open. Time is frozen for only 10 seconds, so be quick! Throw Cappy at Petey so he chokes and then dive onto his head. Do this 3 times to gain a multi moon. Petey Piranha is the Mid-Boss of part 1. If you have not completed Sarasaland you have to go there next. In The Flower Kingdom (Sarasaland), Wario and Waluigi have taken the throne and have submerged the kingdom in a deadly mist. Boos and Peepas haunt the castle walls and toxic gas fills the air. As Mario and Co reach the landing point, king Boo enters the scene. Defeat him, to get a Diamond (This is also equivalent to a moon). Certain areas can now be accessed. Gain 15 diamonds before heading to the castle. Once here, you must escape the maze Waluigi and Wario have prepared. Then, once escaped, defeat both Waluigi and Wario. This will give you 3 Diamonds. Now you can head to the Candy Kingdom (Sweet Sweet Canyon). However, a cutscene plays showing a few lumas hurtling through the sky and Mario stops the odyssey. More lumas tumble past, and then a crowd of them, including Lubba, float through the air. Luma arrives at the odyssey and explains in all the commotion, "It is the time of year when us Lumas have to migrate to the warmer parts of the Earth to charge by the sunlight. With mama gone, and the observatory crash landed somewhere, we have to fly there ourselves." Thus, Mario agrees to help them, and continues flying to the Candy Kingdom with all the lumas. However, with not enough space, Luma enchants the Odyssey. Luma teams up with Cappy, letting you bouce off your hat three times in a row. (You can enable and disable the 'Luma Bounce' by going to the main menu and pressing the option 'Luma's Bounce - Off' Now you can continue with the journey! With Luma's help, you have enough fuel to travel to the Candy Kingdom. Here, you have to make your way to the Candy Castle in order to use their time machine to stop Bowser. However, it turns out the plan was a hoax and a trap, for Bowser Junior traps you in a honey, sticky substance to rot in for ever. Fortunately, the Lumas help Mario and co. escape the honey, and the gang venture through the candy, bee themed castle, meeting some familiar and new foes on the way. You also find weaponry rooms holding weapons such as E. Gadd's invention, like the Paintbrush, a Wonder Flower Petal and more! Bowser Jr. finds you at the last second, unfortunately, and chases you to the Odyssey. A cutscene shows him hanging on for dear life as the odyssey rises into the air, before he falls- Safely onto Kamek. The odyssey heads off to the Art Kingdom, Bowser Junior and Kamek trailing on behind. At the art kingdom, collect enough power moons to activate a portal. This portal leads to Time Tunnel Ruins, where you fight Blue Bowser or Kokushibou and defeat him. Every fight is time related. With Part 1 you use the Time Mushroom to freeze time, and with Part 2 you use it to reverse. With Part 3 you use future... With Bowser's Brother gone, Bowser is as angry as ever. You watch him with his koopalings fly away in their airship out of the arena into the distance. Into time. Wingo and Cookatiel are used to blast you all the way back the other way, out of the arena... Into the past.... Lost in time... "We're... Lost...In...Time..." Cappy says, bringing Part 1 to a close. As a reward, you are given any of SMO's costumes you haven't already got, including a Bowser Junior, The Koopalings, Kamek, Kokishubou and Bowser outfit. Part 2 includes memorable Mario levels, more kingdoms, a backstory of why the Mushroom Kingdom changes its appearance every year and discoveries of a third Mario brother... You also unlock access to the Mushroom Kingdom which is the mario movie's version.

Health[]

Mario and Luigi both have a health bar. There are three parts to the bar, and the parts can be white or red, or white and green with Luigi. The coloured in parts display how much health Mario or Luigi have. For example, if 2 parts of the bar were coloured red or green, Mario or Luigi would have 2 health points left before they die. Health points can be restored with mushroom power ups and hearts and life up hearts. Mushrooms restore 1 point, Hearts restore 3, and life up hearts restore all 3 + an extra life. However, not always is it that when you lose all the parts of the bar it's game over. You can collect 1 up and 2 up mushrooms, which gives you extra lives. Moons (NOT Power Moons) restore three lives.

Powerups[]

Cappy acts as the only powerup but other power ups are available. You have the ability to switch between Cappy and Powerups throughout the game by pressing down the left joy stick on your nintendo switch. Here are the powerups collectable by the end of the game:

Tips[]

Don't forget, the mushroom kingdom has been expanded. Look to the left of you as you walk out of the odyssey and you will see a broken bridge leading into Toad Town. Either unlock as a reward at the end of the game or fix the bridge early with a cat Mario Amiibo. Unlocking the bridge early means you can access the toad town quicker. Also, Peaches castle itself is bigger. You can now enter the garden where you will meet birthday girl and achievest Toadette, the basement and the upstairs rooms. Go through the paintings in the extra rooms to enter a remake of that level.

Multiplayer[]

Up to 4 players are playable: Cappy, Hatty, Luigi and Mario. You can either play in this 4 player style, or play 2 player, with one controlling Cappy and Mario, the other controlling Hatty and Luigi. Whichever characters which aren't used in Multiplayer mode stay in the Odyssey.

Complete Super Mario Odyssey[]

Super Mario Odyssey Remastered is considered as the better Super Mario Odyssey 2, involving all the new and old kingdoms. Super Mario Odyssey Remastered, styled and referred to as: The New 'Super Mario Odyssey', would be the most recommended of Odysseys because it includes everything: The original game and its sequel are merely the Remastered Version divided into two parts. So, simply, if you want a full Super Mario Odyssey adventure containing the original and sequel games including kingdoms of its own, this is the game for you. Below is as much details that I can give you of this extraordinary game.
