Super Mario Maker (working title) is an upcoming game creator application for the Nintendo Switch. It is a remake of Super Mario Maker for the Wii U & 3DS with some new differences. Just like the original game, it allows players to place blocks, enemies, items, and many other from the Super Mario Bros. franchise to create and share their own 2D Super Mario Levels. The game adds the Ice Flower which does pretty much the same thing as it did in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. It also has some items from Super Mario Bros. 2 and New Super Mario Bros. This game has Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario Land, Super Mario World, The All-Stars Theme, Super Mario World (Advance) Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Super Mario Land 2, New Super Mario Bros., and New Super Mario Bros. U as graphical styles. Some items have been separated from game themes too (E.G Rotating Blocks from Super Mario World can be shaken to bricks). There are also more unlockable features in the game including new playable characters. The game also has a brand new Globe Creator that can have over 10 levels & 5 Enemy Ambushes. It also has 5 sub-areas that players can use in their courses.

The game will allow players the choice to choose the game styles from different 2D Mario games. There are 10 styles declared thus far and it has been announced that others may also be accessible in the final game, counting some visual styles from non-Mario games. These games include:

Customization Options[]

This game has most of the same options from the Wii U version, Mushrooms and most of the enemies can ride on other objects and bounce of springboards. Enemies can have wings which cause some more flying abilities, adding a Super Mushroom can make an enemy huge, adding a Ice Flower turns them into ice versions of themselves, and a Fire Flower makes a fire version of the enemy. Shaking a Koopa Troopa turns them into a red or green variant. Players can put coins into enemies and other objects.

Differences from base-games[]

Just like Super Mario Maker on the Wii U, the game faithfully recreates its themes, but there a few differences. Just like in Super Mario Maker for the Wii U, the elevators are solid on top to stay consistent with the New Super Mario Bros. Series. The Lakitus's cloud can be ridden.

Course World[]

Super Mario Maker is planned to have Course World. It has most of the same features of Course World in the original game, but now the players can upload globes.

Balloon Boo (When given an Ice Flower, there attack involves breathing ice out their nose. If given a Fire Flower, they will breathe fire. They can also be given both.)

Mario Paint: Just like the original game on the Wii U it contains a ton references to Mario Paint. Gnats roam across the screen but don't trigger a mini-game when they are swatted. Mr. Eraser, Undodog, and the Reset Rocket returns as well with same functions as they did in Super Mario Maker on the Wii U.
Super Mario Maker: This game is remake of it.

Triva[]

The splash animations in lava and water are now specific for each theme and not a 3D Splash.
In the first trailer, the shadows were not present. However in the second trailer, they are.
