Super Mario Inverted is a Mario game for the Nintendo Switch. It was developed by Nintendo and published by Nintendo.
Gameplay[]
The game plays like any 3D Mario game, but with quite a few tweaks.
First off, returning from Mario Odyssey, it's the cap throw! The cap throw made platforming even better adding all sorts of tricks. This time instead of possessing your enemies, you will just damage them.
Then there's the gameplay which the game is named after, the Inverted World. Going through galaxy hoops, you can travel to Inverted World! Everything in Inverted World is inverted from what the object would usually look like, and the layout of the world is different as well! To see where you might land, in the regular world you see translucent platforms you can walk through. The enemies are made of galaxy goop and so are the bosses! (All of the bosses are in the inverted world.)
The stars are back! And with them come a new item similar to the purple coins in Odyssey known as galaxy coins which are made out of hardened galaxy goop and vary between worlds.
Next, there's the traveling costume shop. The costume shop, (Crazy Cadla's Costumes), has legs and wanders throughout the world. When you go near it, it stops and crouches down. But you can get pins and patches that you can put on your clothes as well. The pins will be on either side of your chest and the patches are big and go on your back. All galaxy coin outfit bases are 15 galaxy coins, all hats are 5, pins are 3, and patches are 5. For golden coin items, all outfit bases are 500 coins, all hats are 250 coins, and all patches are 200 coins.
You travel by the Galaxy Express which makes it's own tracks and run by a friendly galaxy goop person. To go to the next world, you must get at least 15 stars in that world.
And just now added to this very game, zip-line blocks. It's pretty self-explanatory.
Each boss has their own way of fighting, the first one stretches his arms and tries to throw you, but if you dodge, his hands get stuck on the ground giving you an opening. When you fight him the second time, he uses both his arms at the same time and you need to hit him six times. The second one stretches his legs and spins on the ground trying to trip Mario and occasionally he will spin sideways in the air trying to kick you. The second time you fight him, he uses his arms and legs and you need to hit him six times. The third one has hardened goop on her head, arms and legs which he rapidly punches while slowly turning, eventually getting tired retracting the spikes giving you an opening. When she is punching, you need to jump over her arms or walk under them depending on how high she's punching. The second time you fight her, she punches twice as long and you need to hit her six times. The fourth one conducts electricity and elbow bashes towards you, and he also occasionally will front flip and slam down onto you. The second time you fight him, he slams more and you need to hit him six times. The giant fusion of the four walks slowly and will slam, rapidly punch, stretch it's arms, or spins on the ground with it's legs extended and you have to hit it eight times. The first time you fight Goop Bowser, he summons goop monsters, breathes galaxy fire, ground pounds, or stretches his arms. You have to hit him 10 times. Once you get 400 out of the 600 stars, you will have the chance to fight him again but he deals twice the damage and you need to hit him 15 times.
After you beat Bowser the first time (the regular ending), if you travel to the Mushroom Kingdom, you'll find a present with Mario's name on it. If you throw your hat at it, it will burst open releasing 15 more stars to every world except the Mushroom Kingdom.
Finally, in 2 player, a friend can join you as Goop Mario! Just like the enemies in the inverted world, he is made out of galaxy goop. He also has a seprate outfit from the first player. (Not made of goop).
Story[]
When Bowser steals the Invertion Amulet, he is able to control an army of galaxy goop minions and a fearsome Galaxy Goop Gang. When Mario confronts Bowser when he's kidnapping Peach, Bowser shows his new power of controlling galaxy goop and uses it to stretch his body. He throws Mario far away and stretches to his castle. With his hat a few feet away from him in a puddle of galaxy goop. He picks it up and finds that he can now throw his hat and it will come back, and he sees translucent platforms and can jump through the mysterious galaxy hoops. And so as Mario battles the four Galaxy Goop Gang members, he eventually gets to the Inverted World royal castle and fights a fused mega galaxy goop monster made up of the Galaxy Goop Gang. But it's not over, Mario still has to travel back to the new goopy Bowser's Castle and fights Bowser saving Peach.
