Super Mario Brawl! is a fighting/RPG video game in the Mario series released for the Nintendo 64 in 2001. It is the first game in the Super Mario Brawl series.

Unlike previous Mario titles, it uses isometric game maps along with the "cute" Japanese animation and music. In addition to the story and battle modes, there is also a survival mode.

Story Mode

The player takes the role of Mario and Luigi, who are both invited by Princess Peach, along with Yoshi, to the World Island. The Story mode itself revolves around a multi-themed theme-park, with caves, aquariums, and mountains that divide the five zones present in the game, and the constant theme for the Mario Brothers and their allies being to become the "Champions" of World Island.
