Super Mario 3D Land 3 is a platformer game for the Nintendo 3DS, and the sequel to the game: Super Mario 3D Land II: Bowser's Ultimate Revenge. The game was originally developed by Doodle Interactive Studios, but the development was taken over from Transparent Interactive.
The back of the box includes information such as: "MORE ITEMS! Have fun with the new and returning Power-Ups!", "MORE PLAYERS! Go up to 8 Players on Nintendo Network!", "MORE FUN! Play alone or with your friends the new Mini-Games!"
Story[]
Princess Peach invites Mario into her Castle to eat cake. When he was there The Koopalings, Bowser and his Minions was attacking the Castle. Bowser's airship attacks the Castle with cannons. He catchs Peach, throw Bob-ombs at the castle and fly away. Then the Bob-oms explode. The detonation of the Bob-ombs destroyed the Castle. All that was left were some Ruins. Now Mario has to save Princess Peach and rescue the Mushroom Kingdom.
End[]
When Mario defeated Bowser in the last castle, Princess Peach will be get out of her case. Then she say: "Thank, you Mario." Then she gives Mario a kiss on the mouth. Mario is getting red in the face, then he took a Thunder-Bold-Leaf and flew with Princess Peach back to her castle.

Play the Game completely. There are three files.

Play all Levels without unlocking. There are two files:
- Multi-Player: Play the game with up to 4 Players.

Coin-Rush Mode[]
Collect as many coins as you can. There are two files:
- Single-Player: Collect alone many coins.
- Multi-Player: Collect coins with up to 4 Players.
This mode doesn't Support "Nintendo Network".
Mini-Game Mode[]
Play funny Mini-Games alone or with your friends. There are two files:
- Single-Player: Play the Mini-Games alone.

At the Start of the Game Peach's Castle is destroyed (See Story). After finishing the Level World 1-Peach's Castle the Castle is restored. Then you can buy there Hint-Videos from Toadsworth and Power-Ups from Toad.

Star Coins | Star Coins are in every level. Instead of there being the usual three Star Coins there are now four of them in a level. They can be tricky to get. Getting all of them in the world will unlock a level in the Special World, and you can spend them in Peach's Castle to watch Hint-Vidoes. | |
Red Rings | Red Rings are rings that will cause Red Coins to appear. If the player goes through will they will have to collect 8 Red Coins. | |

Yoshi Wings | Yoshi Wings are rare items that appear in Question Blocks. When the player grabs a pair of Yoshi Wings with Yoshi they can fly in the air for a short amount of time in the level. Only one pair comes out and will fly away if the player doesn't grab it. | |
Question Blocks | Question Blocks are blocks that contain items such as Coins or power-ups. They can found almost anywhere. In the Giant World there are Giant Question Blocks instead which act the same. | |
Winged Question Blocks | Winged Question Blocks are Question Blocks with wings that move around. They mainly contain power-ups and 1-Up Mushrooms. | |
Coin Blocks | Coin Blocks are blocks that contain multiple Coins. They can appear as normal Question Blocks, Brick Blocks, or the most common one, Rectangular Question Blocks. If it is hit very fast an item may come out of it. | |
Brick Blocks | Brick Blocks are blocks that can contain items and can be broken in super form. If the player is small they can not break them. | |

POW Blocks | POW Blocks are blocks that can be picked up. When they are picked up the player can throw them to cause a quake on the ground make Coins fall onto the ground and enemies to get defeated. | |
Snake Blocks | Snake Blocks are green blocks that connect together and move in a set path. The blocks on them can vary. | |
P-Switches | P-Switches are blue switches that can create a group or trail of Blue Coins when activated. They can also make platforms appear and turn Coins into Brick Blocks as well as turning Brick Blocks into Coins. | |
Warp Pipes | Warp Pipes are objects that come in four colors, green, red, yellow, and blue. Warp Pipes can transport the player to another place in the game such as an underground area. Some Warp Pipes can also shoot the player similar to a Cannon, that helps the player go over large gaps, gets the player to higher areas, or helps the player collect items that can't be reached. | |

Koopa Shells | Koopa Shells are what Koopa Troopas wear. When a Koopa Troopa is jumped on it goes inside its shell. The shell can be kicked or picked up and thrown. It can hit blocks such as Brick Blocks and Question Block. There are also larger Koopa Shells that can only be kicked. | |
Midway Flag | The Midway Flag are the checkpoints in this game and are found in almost every level. If the player pass through one while being small, he/she will become bigger and when losing a life, the player will start the level at the flag. | |
Flagpole | Flagpoles are the finish of the levels in this game. They're in almost every level at the end of them and the player can jump on it to clear the level and get points. The higher the player reachs in the pole, the higher the points the player earns. If the player reachs the top of the Flagpole, you get a 1UP and you activate the Golden Flag. |
