CANON APPEARANCES

Squirt is a boss from the Donkey Kong Country series, appearing in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. Squirt lives behind a waterfall in Cotton-Top Cove, from which it rarely leaves. Because it only pokes its head out from behind the water, Squirt's full body has yet to be revealed, and all that is known is that its is a large rock-dwelling slug-like being. In Donkey Kong Country 3, Squirt drops a ski once defeated which, alongside the one Mekanos' boss KAOS drops, allows Funky Kong to build the Turbo Ski for Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong.

Physical Appearance[]

In Donkey Kong Country 3, Squirt never leaves from its home behind the waterfall, and thus only shows its long eyestalks and mouth in its sole appearance. Both its mouth and eyestalks are brown, with a scaly (yet also somewhat rocky) texture covering them. Squirt's eyes are white with black oval pupils.

Abilities[]

Squirt's inherent abilities, should it have any, are unknown. In Donkey Kong Country 3, it displays the ability to fire jets of water from its mouth, with the game's Game Boy Advance remake revealing that Squirt seems to have some minor control over the movement of these jets- one attack sees Squirt spew out two streams of water, and one travels in a circular path.

Squirt is unique in that its attacks can't actually harm Dixie Kong or Kiddy Kong (or, for that matter, Ellie the Elephant, who is used during the fight) directly; the water that Squirt spits out is capable of pushing them off the cliffs on which the battle takes place, while not damaging them directly.

Appearances[]

Jake's Super Smash Bros.[]

Squirt makes a rather prominent appearance in Jake's Super Smash Bros., appearing in the background of the Cotton-Top Cove stage. Squirt will occasionally poke its eyes and mouth out from behind the waterfall; while sometimes this will have no impact on the battle, Squirt may sometimes fire a stream of water to push away foes and destroy the log bridge in the centre of the stage.
