Sonic Crisis is a Sonic the Hedgehog video game developed by Lone Planet Productions in an attempt to revitalize the series in a way that games like Sonic Forces have failed to do.
Sonic Crisis is unlike most previous Sonic games in that there is a greater emphasis on exploration and the traditional speed formula is not so much a gameplay gimmick as a means of getting around. Players take control of Sonic and his friends and roam around a large, open world, and the main objective of the game is to find all of the Gem Shards that have been scattered around this world -- the Chaos Emeralds, the Sol Emeralds, the Time Stones, the Precioustone, and the Phantom Ruby all have fragments lying around.
There are multiple playable characters, each with a Spin Dash, a midair ability, and five additional skills that can be unlocked and switched out with each other as you continue to play. To name a few, Sonic's homing attack returns as his midair ability, and unlockable moves include the Super Peel-Out, the Insta Shield, the Boost, the Stomp, and the Drop Dash.
