The Solar-Type is one of the introduced Fanon types that appear in various Fanon Pokémon games. The Solar-Type is a less than common type and draws a parallel to its opposite, the Lunar-Type. Of the starter Pokémon, only Chikorita's Line gains the Solar-Type through evolution. Solar-Types gain several aspects from the Fire-Type and Grass-Type making them a good special offensive group. The type has several weaknesses albeit not as severe as the Grass-Type. Solar-Type is weak to; Lunar, Dark, Ice & Ground Types and is strong against the; Lunar, Bug & Grass Types. Solar-Type has a few resistances to common types as well, being resistant to: Fire, Fighting & Steel. Solar-Type Pokemon gain a 10% boost to their Special Attack in Sunny Weather however suffer a 10% decrease to their Speed in Rainy Weather.
Of the first 6 Generations there are 54 Solar-Type Pokemon in existence. Most Pokemon that became Solar-Type were previously or are now partly Grass-Type as well as several from the Normal and Bug Types with a few extras scattered around. The list of Solar-Type Pokemon is listed below.

General Aesthetics
Solar-Type Pokemon are generally either based off of the concept of the Morning or off of the reliance ot the sun, hence why many Grass-Types gain this type. Only a handful of Flying-Types gain this type while a vast multitude of Bug-Types do as well. Common factors of these Pokemon are the colours Green and Orange, known for being encountered during the morning or day and flowers. Due to many being of the Normal, Bug and Grass Types the Pokemon are usually members of the Grass, Bug, Field and Monster Egg Group. Two outliers from this description are Chansey's Line and Kangaskhan this is due to both Pokemon being known for nuturing and caring and are associated with the willingness to protect their young.
Interestingly Venusaur, despite being a Grass-Type Pokemon with a Flower and being known for the move Solarbeam, is not a Solar-Type.
