Final Smash Grenade Launcher

Solid Snake is one of the returning characters from Super Smash Bros. Brawl introduced in Super Smash Bros. Calamity and is one of the three characters released for download in the late 2018 "Return" fighter DLC pack, along with Pichu and Young Link.

Changes

Notice Up taunt involves him saying "Colonel, mission accomplished" to his codec.

Notice Snake has a new victory theme, which is the same one used in Project M.

Notice The two punches in the jab animation is replaced with a punch and knife slash.

Buff New up tilt, which is an quick uppercut that can kill at 120%.

Buff New side smash, which is three knife slash that lead to the other hits, with the third hit coming out when the attack button is pressed after the second slash. The move is faster while still being strong enough to kill at 125% percent.

Nerf New side smash is weaker and the third hit it strangely does not connect at higher percents.

Nerf New down smash, which Snake does a breakdance kick, that is weaker and unlike his previous down smash, cannot be used to gain ground control.

Buff Unlike most characters, Snake has a crawl attack, which involves in him stabbing forward with his knife, similar to how he does it in Snake's Revenge. While it isn't good for K.Oing, it can set opponents up for a combo.

Nerf Snake now only does three kicks instead of four in his neutral aerial, making the move weaker.

Buff Forward aerial is much more stronger in terms of knockback and spikes/meteor smashes at Snake's foot/leg. Even when used on grounded opponents, the move is good for K.Oing.

Notice Back throw is his former up throw.

Nerf New up throw, that is weaker.

Nerf Only one grenade can be out at a time and Snake only has four grenades, and after the fourth grenade, the move goes into a ten second cooldown state.

Buff New side special, which matches the one he has in Project M, Tranquilizer Gun, which puts opponents on the ground to sleep, setting them up for a combo (and giving them a chance to place a C4 on them).

Buff Cypher is replaced with Gun Cypher, which shoots bullets that rack up damage and deal moderate knockback to the opponent when Snake lets go of it or when the special button is pressed (but the bullets are weaker). Also, while ascending, it discharges electricity when the special button is held, damaging opponents.

Nerf Gun Cypher travels less distance than the original Cypher and cannot grant Snake armor.

Up tilt Uppercut Snake does a quick uppercut. 12%
Up smash Above mortar shot Snake slams a mortar on the ground that fires a shell upwards. Can be charged, but it only makes the shell fire higher and doesn't do any more damage. The shell can be angled left or right. 13%

Special attacks
Attack Name Description Damage
Neutral special Grenade Snake takes out a grenade and pulls the pin, causing it to explode seconds later. Deals damage to opponents when the grenade touches them and explodes afterwards. Can be angled to throw it in many different ways. Snake cannot turn around during the move and it can be used for a Bomb recovery. After throwing four grenades, the move enters a cooldown state. 4% (thrown), 12% (explosion)
Side special Tranquilizer Gun Snake gets out a gun and fires a tranquilizer dart from it that puts grounded opponents to sleep and deals low hitstun to airborne opponents. Can be used as a combo starter when used on grounded opponents. 2%
Up special Gun Cypher Snake clings onto a Gun Cypher that carries him upwards for a few seconds. It can shoots up to six bullets when the special button is pressed or, if there is any bullets left, fire the rest of them, racking up damage and dealing moderate to high knockback. Snake can also emit electricity if the special button is held down, though strangely enough when he does he cannot fire any bullets, even when he lets go of the Cypher. 6% (electricity), 2% (bullets; special button), 3% (each bullet; when Snake lets go of the Cypher)
4% (Cypher when it is released)
Down special C4 Snake places a C4 on the ground, which can be triggered at any time by him when the down special input is made. If done next to an opponent, Snake will place a butterfly C4 on them, and when denotated, it will do moderate damage and knockback. 13% (explosion)
Final Smash Grenade Launcher Snake will say "It's showtime!" as he leaps off the stage and grabs onto a rope ladder of a helicopter. The camera becomes an over-the-shoulder view and the player can aim with a crosshair to make Snake shoot grenades at his opponents. Snake can fire up to two clips with six grenades; after firing six shots, he loads a new clip. The Final Smash ends when Snake runs out of time or uses all of his grenades. If no rounds are fired within a few seconds, the Grenade Launcher begins to fire independently wherever the crosshairs are present. 18% (each grenade)

Miscellaneous

Alternates

Snake has two alternate costumes, one based on his father, Big Boss (aka Naked Snake), and one based on his appearance in Metal Gear Solid for the Playstation.
