SERIES Kingdombound

Slimes are a summonable troop that makes their debut in Kingdombound. They are considered mascots of the game, alongside the Warrior and the Nekon.

Description[]

The Slime features a simplistic and cute design. They have a gelatinous body, four small tentacles that act like feet, large black eyes with yellow pupils, a mouth with a small fang sticking out, and two large protrusions similar to ears or horns. Their color changes depending on which side they are on. They have a bright orange color when on the Red Team, a bright cyan color when on the Blue Team, and a purple color as enemies.

Abilities[]

The Slime, out off all of the game's available troops, are the weakest. They possess very little health, little damage, okay speed, and no special abilities. Because of this, they can easily be taken down by a Wizard, Berzerker or just groups of stronger enemies. However, their largest strengths are their numbers.

Slimes are capable of multiplying and reproducing similar to cells, allowing them to make hundreds of copies of each other. Though this is never seen by players in Kingdombound, and players would be able to see this in Fantendo Card Cataclysm.

Notable Members[]

Ecto[]

Ecto is a green Slime who acts as Milo's pet and mascot. He doesn't do much, often just sitting on his backpack, but he's cute and attracts customers.

Apppearences[]

Kingdombound[]

Slimes make their debut in Kingdombound. In game, they are a melee troop, and are among the cheapest of them, requiring only 1 Crystal to create their building, the Slime Cauldron. The Slime Cauldron, however, is the fastest producing troop spawner, allowing players to summon large amounts of them to bring into battle. Their only attack is Chomp, a fairly weak attack where the Slime bites the enemy.

Slime also make an appearence as an enemy in Kingdombound's Adventure Mode. They act virtually the same as their troop variants.

Fantendo's Card Cataclysm[]

All three Slime variations appear as an enemy in Fantendo's Card Cataclysm.

FCC Red Slime Card
Red Slime
Kingdombound
Red Slimes are very common gelatinous enemies and one of the most basic enemy types to appear in Fantendo's Card Cataclysm. Their small gelatinous bodies aren't very bulky or good at dealing damage, but they're rather swift. Additionally, while slimes are weak, they have the ability to multiply over time, so defeating them quickly is important.

Red Slime leaps forwards and bites the player, dealing mediocre damage. However, when this attack is used, all opposing slimes will attack, making this attack dangerous if there are many slimes present.
FCC Blue Slime Card
Blue Slime
Kingdombound
Blue Slimes are common enemies that act as slightly more powerful variants of the Red Slime. While somewhat stronger than Red Slimes, and additionally able to take more hits and move faster, they're still not overly powerful. Like their red cousins, they can multiply, and do so at a faster rate than them.

Kingdombound
Purple Slimes are rarer and more powerful variants of the Red and Blue Slimes. They appear more frequently in the game's later dungeouns, and are able to take more hits and move faster than their counterparts. They can also multiply in battle at an alarming rate, so defeat them as quickly as possible!

Trivia[]

  • The Slime is one of the oldest consistent designs that was featued in Kingdombound, appearing in various previous genre ideas as enemies.
  • Crakabo had no idea why he added the ears, but decided to keep them as he thought they made them unique.
  • Despite their positive reception, Slimes became rather infamous at launch, due to being part of a strategy known as Slime Rushing. Inspired by the Zerg Rush from the Starcraft series, Slime Rushing involves a team constructing numbers of Slime Cauldrons, and letting them summon the maximum amount of Slimes. Then once they have around 50 - 100 Slimes (take or leave a few), they would rush the castle and destroy basically everything, allowing them to get easy wins. This created controversy in the community, leading to the developers adding a limit to the amount of troops at a time to 30.
