The Shine type is super effective against and resists the Ghost type, inspired by how ghosts are afraid of light and often disappear when in it, meaning something shiny would obviously deter them.

The Shine type is super effective against the Bug type as well, owing to how sunshine can be magnified and directed towards a specific spot using a magnifying glass, and this magnified sunshine is often seen incinerating bugs.

The Shine type resists the Flying, Dark, Psychic, and Clean types, as well as itself. This is because things in the air can be easily blinded by sunshine, a shiny object would obviously neutralize the darkness, shiny things can often break the concentration of smart people, clean things are usually shiny, meaning shine itself would obviously be impervious to it, and adding shininess to shininess just increases the total amount of shininess.

The Shine type is resisted by the Fire and Electric types, due to how electricity and fire produce light themselves and therefore are obviously impervious to shiny things.

Despite resisting the Dark type, the Shine type is also resisted by it, because if a shiny material is placed in darkness, it stops shining, because there's no light to shine off of it.

The Water type is super effective against and resists the Shine type, inspired by how water not only often rusts shiny materials and makes them not shiny anymore, but also bends light by slowing its photons.

The Fairy, Ground, and Poison types are super effective against the Shine type as well, because fairies are often able to generate shininess, dirt can cover shiny materials and make them dirty, reducing their shine, and poisonous or acidic substances often corrode and rust shiny materials to make them not shiny anymore.
