The Shadow Queen is a villain in the Paper Mario series and the main antagonist of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. She is an ancient demon queen who ruled the world with an iron fist until a group of warriors formed a resistance and defeated her, locking her away for centuries. She was eventually freed by Sir Grodus, who intended to use her power for his own purposes (which nearly led to his demise at the hands of the queen).
Abilities
The Shadow Queen is a skilled sorceress, being able to use dark magic against anyone who dares resist her will. One spell in particular can dissolve an individual's body; she casts this spell on Sir Grodus, destroying every part of him except for his head.
She can also possess any living entity, and she uses this power to gain a physical form (as shown when she takes control of Princess Peach's body).
Personality
The Shadow Queen is perhaps one of the most evil characters in the Mario series. She is cold and brutal and wants nothing more than to take over the world and force its people to suffer as her slaves. She also has a massive superiority complex, seeing her minions as mere tools to carry out her desires; as such, she is furious when anyone tries to take advantage of her and/or comes close to her in terms of power.

The Shadow Queen is an unlockable Cruiser racer in this game, taking her Peach form. She was mainly added as a replacement for Pink Gold Peach, being an existing character while also filling the niche of a heavier variation of Peach to open her up to those who prefer heavyweight characters.
