Rhythm Heaven, or as others call it Super Rhythm Tengoku/Rhythm Tengoku: Mega Drive/Rhythm Heaven 64, is the first game in the Rhythm Heaven Series. Being developed and licensed by both Sega and Nintendo. It originally launched on the Super Famicom and Mega Drive in Japan only.

It got ported to the Nintendo 64 internationally in 1998 with cleaner graphics and soundtrack.

It was remastered for the GBA on August 5, 2006.

On June 12, 2009 in Japan, June 30, 2009 in North America, and July 3, 2009 in PAL Regions, the N64 port of Rhythm Heaven was re-released on the Wii Virtual Console, it was delisted on February 13, 2012 due to the release of Rhythm Heaven Fever.

On October 23, 2016 in North America, October 24, 2016 in PAL Regions, and October 31, 2016 in Japan, the N64 port of Rhythm Heaven was re-released on the Wii U Virtual Console.

On October 25, 2021, the the N64 port of Rhythm Heaven was re-released on Nintendo Switch Online as part of Nintendo 64 - Nintendo Switch Online.

On November 14, 2021, the N64 port of Rhythm Heaven was included on the Nintendo 64 Classic Edition.

Development

This is a collaboration between Sega and Nintendo, because Sega had an Agreement from Nintendo in 1996.
