Rayman: HD Collection is an upcoming compilation of remakes. The games include Rayman, Rayman 2, Rayman 3 HD, and Rayman Origins.

Development[]

Development started in late 2018, when Ubisoft wanted the first four games remade to tie in with the Rayman Legends released years earlier. The Nintendo Switch, PS4, and XBOX One releases started at the same time, while development for the PC version started a month later.

Games[]

  • Rayman (based on PC)
  • Rayman 2 (choice between Dreamcast and PS2 versions)
  • Rayman 3 HD
  • Rayman Origins

Differences from original releases[]

Rayman[]

  • You have a choice between the original art style, or the Rayman Origins art style.
  • Along with Original Mode, there is New Mode, ideal for those who didn't like the difficulty of the original game. While it isn't too easy, level layouts have been changed, you start with more lives, you get a Rayman 2-style health bar, and bosses have been made easier.
  • The camera has been zoomed out, so players can see where they're going and have more reaction time to enemies.

Rayman 2[]

  • You have a choice between the Dreamcast version and the PS2 version when you start a new file. This cannot be changed with saved files.
  • The graphics have been upgraded, though Rayman keeps his Rayman 2 outfit.

Rayman 3[]

  • A direct port of the HD version, the only thing that's changed is new leaderboard servers and the theme song returning. The original logo returns too.

Rayman Origins[]

  • Similarly to Rayman, you can pick between the Origins art style and the Legends art style.

Downloadable Content[]

Post launch, Rayman: HD Collection will have extra worlds for all four games. Confirmed DLC is "Handheld Trilogy", a world for Rayman containing everything from Rayman and Rayman 2 from the GBC, and Rayman 3 from the GBA, also unlocking new art styles based on these games, and "Globox's Story", a new Rayman 1 campaign set before Rayman 2, with Globox being the sole playable character.

Reception[]

Pre-release reception was positive, with the remakes being noted as faithful ports of their original versions.
