Pooka is an enemy from Namco's Dig Dug, who would later continue to make appearances in many other Namco games and franchises. His most common attribute is that he inflates and deflates with various actions, and tends to explode when he is too big.

Game Appearences[]

Pac-Man Universe[]

He appears in Pac-Man Universe as one of the most common enemies in the game, like Goombas in Mario franchise and Waddle Dees from Kirby franchise. They are enemies that come in many different sizes, but deflate with each hit. At their smallest size, they explode, damaging nearby enemies. This is the opposite of Dig-Dig, their debut game, where they grew with size each hit.

Jake's Super Smash Bros.[]

Pooka makes a minor cameo appearance in Jake's Super Smash Bros. as one of the many Namco characters present as part of PAC-MAN's Final Smash, Namco Tussle. Pooka doesn't make a major appearance in the short cinematic that plays should PAC-MAN successfully initiate his Final Smash, but does appear alongside Mappy, Tower of Druaga's Gil, Bravoman, Drill Dozer's Frygar, Libble Rabble's Topcup, Yōkai Dōchūki's Tarosuke, Valkyrie, and Taiko no Tatsujin's Don-chan at the end of the cinematic, as Amul launches the trapped foes away.
