Pokémon XD: Gale of Total Darkness is a remake of Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness that was originally released for the GameCube dating back to 2005. The game features remastered hi-res graphics and improved textures.
Story[]
Five years after the events in Pokémon Colosseum, the Orre region is under siege again where the Cipher team has resurrected, abducting various Pokémon from different regions and turning them into Shadow Pokémon. A young boy named Michael, hired by Professor Krane, must explore the newly revamped Orre region and snag the Shadow Pokémon to purify them to their original stage.
Language[]
This remake has a language selection when you first boot the game. It is available in 9 different languages; English, Japanese, Spanish, Italian, French, German, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
Modes[]
Story Mode[]
This single player mode lets you explore the newly revamped Orre region and snag the Shadow Pokémon. It also has three save files, reminiscent to the Zelda series.
Multiplayer Mode[]
This mode features a free play, where you can use your story mode team and connect with a Nintendo 3DS with X, Y, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Sapphire inserted. You can also choose whichever venue you want.
Battle Now[]
This mode lets you have a quick battle using preset Pokémon. The venue is random.
Wi-Fi Battle[]
Use your Story Mode file and battle other players online. Nintendo online membership required.
Music[]
The majority of the game's soundtrack is composed by Tsukasa Tawada. The entire soundtrack has been remixed with full-fledged orchestrations and arrangements to coerce hi-res surround sound.
Compatibility[]
- Pokémon: Pokémon from generation I through III, consisting a total of 386 Pokémon, are compatible.
- Moves: All moves go up to Generation VI and with the battle mechanics consisting of physical, special, and status moves.
- Abilities: All abilities go up to Generation VI.
- Games: Only Generation VI games for the 3DS will link with this remake of XD. X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire are compatible for linking.
