Pile Driver Micro-Goombas are a species of Goomba from Super Mario Bros. 3 that hid in Brick Blocks and try to jump on Mario when he comes near. Blockhoppers are a similar enemy that appeared in New Super Mario Bros. There are also similar enemies called Pile Driver Grand Goombas, which are af course Grand Goombas that hide in Giant Brick Blocks.

After a long absence, Pile Driver Micro-Goombas return in the D.I.Y. game, New Super Mario Bros. D.I.Y. They take their old look from Super Mario Bros. 3. This time, it is much easier to find find out which Brick Blocks they are hiding in, because like Blockhoppers, they jump to the "Bah" in the level's music. In Super Mario Bros. 3, however, the player could usually only find out which is the Micro-Goomba when they already got hurt by the enemy Template:MarioStub
