Pidgits are bird-like creatures that can appear purple or black in color (depending on the game). In earlier games, they appear as black, however in modern games and remakes they appear more of a dark purple. They have yellow beaks and a small tuft of feathers atop their heads.
Pidgits first appeared as enemies in Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic as a rare aerial enemy. They attack the player by swooping down, but like most enemies in the game, they can be defeated by being picked up and thrown. Only 4 Pidgits appear in the whole game, with one in World 1-2, one in World 3-1, and two in World 5-3.
A Pidgit makes a cameo appearance in the background of the Mushroom Kingdom II stage.
After a long hiatus, Pidgits appear as enemies in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, being found on Yoshi's Island. Like in their original appearance, Pidgits attack by swooping down at the Mario Bros., however in this game, they can fake-out the player by initiating a short hop before they attack, which delays their attack by a second. Additionally, Pidgits in this game can spawn with a sack of coins, which is obtained once they are defeated, however these Pidgits may flee from battle.
Like in Melee, a Pidgit appears in the background of the Mushroom Kingdom II stage. Also in this game, a Pidgit appearas as a Spirit which can be unlocked during World of Light.
- Pidgit's name is a corruption of pigeon.
