Paper Princess Peach is an RPG for the Nintendo Switch and all consoles that follow. This installment serves as a direct sequel to the original Paper Mario Trilogy (64, TTYD, and Super) and The Origami King as well as Super Princess Peach. Put simply, it's the princess's turn at a paper adventure. In the paper-media-based continent of Printilia, she meets and falls in love with the ingenious auto-mechanic Cast, whose magnate father is regrettably shoulder-deep in business competition. Little do they know that the Shadow Queen is back from behind the doors, and she is fixing up a scheme to consume not just the Mushroom World, but all that's ever been written. Although Printilia is already a crazed place to live in, Peach gets help from allies old and new to cement her love, expose the Queen, and save the day.

Opening[]

A letter addressed to the legendary Mario Bros. arrives at the brothers' house. Luigi reads it contents to his older brother, Mario, and unsurprisingly, it's from Peach, and it asks them to accompany her as they visit Printilia, a far-off continent embodying paper media, for a business/politics trip. Being the heroes they are, Mario and Luigi accept Peach's offer and set off towards the airport. However, midway through the journey, Luigi starts to feel uneasy. An odd black substance creeps up on them, zipping out of sight every time the bros turn their backs. When the bros get a little lost, a mischievously placed road sign leads the bros into a trap, and they are ambushed and kidnapped by subordinates of the Shadow Queen, in a subversion of the standard PM formula.

Prologue - Downtown Boy[]

In Printilia, Peach and Toadsworth arrive in New Sprint, an all-eras-New-Yorkesque state embodying the news and newspapers. It's gotten a bad reputation for its alarming crime rate, for which the princess was come prepared with her Vibe Scepter and rain coat from Color Splash. Despite the preparations, Toadsworth insists that she stay by his side at all times, on account of the Mario bros never having made it. Peach obliges, her mind set for the meeting. is Cast Retool, who is a car mechanic, because it isn't a tale unless an MC is really sad. Peach is his celebrity crush. His dad is Sprint's head honcho economically (he's the guy that innovated Mushrooms as fuel, linking to the Kart games).

Peach and Cast meet at one end of a crosswalk. They turn their heads toward the other, and their shocked stares turn into soft gazes. In that moment, Peach finds Cast somewhat attractive, unbeknownst to him. The boy offers to escort her to the Retool office for the meeting, and she shyly accepts. There, the princess converses with Mr. Retool about what they can do for both their nations. When Peach begins to have a trauma attack in the middle of the meeting, Cast attempts to comfort her, but absent daddy isn't having it thinking it is an embarrassment, and it devolves into an argument between father and son leading to Cast concluding that his father never loved him at all, and storming home. The heat of the argument still in him, Mr. Retool orders that the princess stay within Printilia borders until the issues are resolved.

Later in the evening, Cast goes home to his auto repair bay where his 3 friends and coworkers Radal, Ferrous, and Bolt comfort him. Just then, Princess Peach arrives at the bay, to the crew's surprise. She blames herself for the paternal fiasco and wants to make it up to him by helping with the night shift - their first date. Cast's mates welcome her into their posse, announcing their "five man band" complete (Cast is the Smart Man, Radal the Lancer, Ferrous the Big Guy, and Bolt the Hero. All they needed was a Heart.) Peach and Cast get to know each other a little better and become friends. While they're both working under the chassis of a Mini Kooper (pun intended), Cast takes this opportunity to give Peach a kiss on her cheek, even though R F and B could tell their bud went for it from Peach's briefly disorientation. Really, she was happy she not only met a boy she actually likes, but helped him through a hard time.

Anyway, still wondering about the incident in the office? That's where the Kooper comes back. It's owned by an informant of the Shadow Queen. Yes, the Shadow Queen, somehow back from behind the Thousand Year Door. Along side world domination, she's planning for revenge on that prissy pink vessel, and this time she's not alone. A while ago, she's adopted three then-orphaned girls - Sophie, Doris and Kaysa by name - as her Shadow Princesses to clear out any obstacles in her way. They've taken
