Fantendo - Game Ideas & More

Omega Ruin is a Umbrella game by Toroko for The V². It is a fighting game, although more in the vein of Street Fighter or King of Fighters.

Gameplay[]

Although the gameplay of Omega Ruin is closer to Street Fighter and King of Fighters, it doesn't opt for the regular four button system, instead adopting a two button system similar to that seen in the Super Smash Bros. Each character has four standard attacks (Neutral, Side, Up, and Down standard attacks) and four special attacks (Neutral, Side, Up, and Down special attacks) to use, using either the V2Action Red for standard attacks or V2Action Green for specials, as well as a directional input. Characters can also jump using the triggers or the up directional movement on the pad. Players use V2Action Purple to block, and V2Action Blue to unleash high damaging hyper moves when their gauge is filled. The player can taunt using the directional pad.

Omega Ruin uses a fighting format consisting of 3-on-3 team based matches dubbed the Team Battle System. Instead of choosing a single character, the player instead selects three characters, which become the player's team so to speak. Before each match, the players choose the order in which each of their team member enters the battle. When the match begins, the members chosen to go first on their respective teams will fight. When one character is defeated, the following member of the same team will take his or her place, while the character on the other team will have a small portion of their life restored (if energy was lost during the previous round).

Modes[]

  • Versus - 3v3 battles in any stage you desire with levelable CPU opponents or a friend.
  • Arcade Mode - The bulk of the game really. You will face opponents from the roster, usually randomized. Bosses will sometimes show up to challenge the fighters. Every character has their own Arcade endings, which are pretty distinct.

Story[]

A evil empress has sent a ton of characters that she dubs "Wonder Icons" to a hellish tournament to fight to the death. Sitting on a throne made of black tentacles, The Empress has the Wonder Icons have to battle to save their worlds and selves or their worlds and themselves will be destroyed.

Characters[]

The character descriptions are written by Nikki, who serves as the humble servant of The Empress. Nikki seems to have a liking for most of the Wonder Icons, although she seems to be rather breezy with the popular ones.

Starting Characters[]

This starting roster is all icons from all over the place! What a cast!

Character Information

Mario
Rival: Wario
NikkiHeadOmegaRuin
Nikki:
Mario is a plump plumber who is easily one of the more iconic stars of the medium of video games. Does he need any more introduction? Because he's not a overtly deep character.

Mario attacks with a hammer for most his standard moves, with his specials using a fireball, throwing his hat as a boomerang-like projectile, using the cape as a upper diagonal melee attack, and using a ground stomp.

Hypers

  • Level 1: Super Star - Turns invincible for a two seconds and knocks opponents off with touch, dealing some damage to them.
  • Level 2: Mini Mario Army - Summons an army of Mini Marios to fill the screen, dealing tons of damage. Can be avoided if the opponent somehow stays in the air for that long.
  • Level 3: God Mario - Turns stars into christmas ornaments and flings them towards the opponent, dealing a lot of damage.
Sonic render 03 by elesis knight-d33q9j2
Sonic
Rival: Shadow
NikkiHeadOmegaRuin
Nikki:
He's a fast little blue man, I'm talking of course about my man Sonic the Hedgehog! He's a blue hedgehog that runs fast and is kind of a dick. Still, he saves the Earth a lot, so he can't be too terrible.

While his attacks are rather weak, Sonic uses his speed to make up for it. Sonic has minimal lag to his moves, making them somewhat hard to punish if he whiffs. His standard attacks aren't anything to write home about, but his specials include a homing attack that can lock onto opponents that proves to be rather handy.

Hypers

  • Level 1: Omega Peel-Out - Preforms the Super Peel-Out, slamming into the opponent at high speed to deal a lot of concentrated damage.
  • Level 2: Animal Friends - Sonic opens a capsule with a dozens of small critters that flood and attack opponents.
  • Level 3: Super Sonic - Sonic turns into Super Sonic, able to fly around and release bursts of Chaos energy. Curiously, his appearance is closer to the Fleetway comic depictions and is far more aggressive.
CrashNSaneTrilogy
Crash Bandicoot
Rival: N. Cortex
NikkiHeadOmegaRuin
Nikki:
Your favorite marsupial, Crash Bandicoot®, is back and he's enhanced, entranced & ready-to-dance! I stole this off from the google results and I thought it would be funny, because it has the little ®. Anyway, this guy is pretty dense and dumb. Thank god he doesn't speak, am I right?

Crash Bandicoot is a rather unique character as, while he has more or less average range in his melee attacks, his Crate Toss and Fruit Bazooka allows him to outzone numerous other characters with surprising efficiency. Crash's mobility is remarkable as well, since he can use his Spin Attack to maneuver around the stage and put pressure onto his opponents as well as recover with ease with his Jetpack.

Hypers

  • Level 1: TNT - Can be set down by Crash and explodes in three seconds. Can harm Crash if he's in the explosion's range.
  • Level 2: Nitro Crate - Crash tosses out a Nitro Crate that explodes on impact, dealing a lot of damage to his opponent.
  • Level 3: Aku Aku - Crash becomes invincible and will damage and knockback any foes he touches. It lasts for 7 seconds.
Doomslayer WonderIcon
Doom Slayer
Rival: Master Chief
NikkiHeadOmegaRuin
Nikki:
He's uh... a space marine. Why do we have two of these? This guy is violent, aggressive, and hell is afraid of him. Looking at him is just intimidating to me, eek!

Doom Slayer uses rather powerful attacks, with a run and kill game style. Doom Slayer uses a gun for projectiles and when he runs out of bullets, he has to use a chainsaw that can cut through his foes and drop ammo for his guns. Doom Slayer can use a variety of guns like the Unmaker, Shotgun, and the BFG9000, which he can switch between. Some of these guns are more powerful but may come with more drawbacks like speed and funkier hitboxes.

Hypers

  • Level 1: Megasphere - Increases the Doom Slayer's defense, allow him to absorb less damage from impacts.
  • Level 2: Wings of Wrath - Originally from Hexen, it allows the Doom Slayer to fly and become faster in the air.
  • Level 3: Porkalator - Originally from Hexen, it turns the opponents into pigs that are unable to attack.
MasterChiefWonderIcons
Master Chief
Rival: Doom Slayer
NikkiHeadOmegaRuin
Nikki:
He's a space marine, I think? Don't we have the Doom Slayer for that? Uh, well, let's see, his name's John. One of 117? He's a decorated marine with all the badges except for Prisoner of War. He's a large guy too, as I've seen in person, but nowhere near as intimidating as the other guy. Good focused boy, perhaps too focused...
Megaman-0
Megaman
Rival: Bass
NikkiHeadOmegaRuin
Nikki:
He's known as the Blue Bomber, except he rarely ever uses bombs while blue? Seems like a crappy nickname. Anyway, uh, he's a robot. He has a arm cannon that he uses to shoot things and he can collect enemy's powers. He's bound by the rules of robotics, no matter how badly he wants to break them sometimes! Sorry buddy, sounds rough to be you!

Megaman uses mostly projectiles in his attacks, using either Mega Buster pellets or charged energy shots. His special moves use a variety of abilities from his past bosses, such as a rotating shield made of skulls, a flame blast, or a freezing slash. Megaman can also utilize a slide to quickly move while doing damage.

Hypers

  • Level 1: Ra Thunder - Releases a powerful blast of energy from the hands, that can be dodged by jumping. Originally from Ra Thor.
  • Level 2: Flame Mixer - A flame-thrower style attack that melts almost any opponent, originally from Konro Man.
  • Level 3: Mega Legends - Mega Man fires a Black Hole Bomb, Galaxy Man's weapon from Mega Man 9, in front of him. After it explodes, it can suck opponents in. If anyone gets sucked in, then Mega Man X, MegaMan.EXE, Mega Man Volnutt, and Geo Stelar will join Mega Man to fire their Mega Busters in unison in a cinematic Final Smash.
PAC-MAN (WGC)
Pac-Man
Rival: Toc-Man
NikkiHeadOmegaRuin
Nikki:
What a weird looking ball. That's Pac-Man? Namco really doesn't know what to do with this guy. Is he mute? Does he live in a Pac-Man world or does he live in that maze with the ghosts? Maybe he's a catalyst for all we know. His appearance here is closer to the Pac-Man World games, specifically the first two.

Pac-Man has low jumps and mostly uses melee attacks like a butt-bounce that he can do after a jump or a "Rev-Roll" that lets him spin and attack with quick speed. He can do a kick flip in the air, use pellets as a projectile, and create a line of pellets to fly around with.

Hypers

  • Level 1: Metal Pac-Man - Turns Pac-Man metal, increasing his weight and attack power as well as being able to sustain hits better.
  • Level 2: Power Pellet - Turns opponents blue, allowing Pac-Man to eat them to do a ton of damage.
  • Level 3: 256 - Pac-Man turns the stage into a glitchy looking mess, attacking the player with Pac-Man clones and tornadoes.
Kat WonderIcon
Kat
Rival: Raven
NikkiHeadOmegaRuin
Nikki:
Oh, she's cute! She even has a cat, just like me! Haha, crazy. Anyway, Kat comes from Hekseville and she lost her memory, and probably has it back now. I just wanna pet the cat... doing that will make him disappear? Eek! Never mind then!

Kat is a rather unique character in that she can mess with gravity, her's and her opponent's. Using zero gravity techniques, Kat tends to be airborne, which is unusual for this kind of game. She can use her kicks to get fairly long ranged melee attacks, as well as summon debris to shoot at opponents.

Hypers

  • Level 1: Zero Gravity Orb - Makes the opponent float in the air, unable to attack as Kat is allowed to get a couple of hits in.
  • Level 2: Rotate - Kat sticks to the floor as the stage turns upside down, sending the opponent high into the air as Kat switches back gravity to have them slam down for a bunch of damage.
  • Level 3: Gravity Panther - Merges herself with Dusty, and transforms into a panther-like creature. She attacks by slashing with claws and creating a gravitational vortexes that makes opponents float around with no way way to attack.
GokuForV
Goku
Rival: Frieza
NikkiHeadOmegaRuin
Nikki:
Holy shit, it's Goku. Goku is a Saiyan originally sent to Earth as an infant with the mission to destroy it. However, an accident alters his memory, causing him to grow up pure-hearted and later become Earth's greatest defender. He's good at heart, but a terrible father and always lets fights escalate to create a feasible challenge for himself. For that, I have condemn him a bit.
Spider-ManWonderIcon
Spider-Man
Rival: Venom
NikkiHeadOmegaRuin
Nikki:
It's Spider-Man, your friendly neighborhood super-hero. Dude must leave webbing everywhere, which probably is a hassle to clean up. Not that it really matters considering how damage these cities take anyway. Wonder who the guy in the mask is supposed to be?

All these stages are, in the lore of this game at least, holographic hard light representations of the home worlds of the Wonder Icons.

Character Information
Mario Mario defeats The Empress with the help of his team and heads home, restoring the worlds of those who were destroyed using 1-UP Mushrooms from the Mushroom Kingdom. Afterwards, Nick Fury shows up and asks him if he'd like to be part of a Avengers initative to take down the mad titan Thanos. Mario refuses, but shows up to fight Thanos anyway, tossing Cappy at him to capture Thanos and shape the universe into a giant castle, disposing of Thanos into space afterwards. Rosalina and Mario rule over the universe as a king and queen, happily.
Sonic Sonic defeats The Empress with the help of his team and heads home, restoring the worlds of those who were destroyed using power of the Chaos Emeralds. He goes back home but finds that Eggman has taken over his world while he was gone. Sonic decides to finally end Eggman, killing him and restoring Eggman's damage with his millionth ring. Sonic decides to take over what was left of Eggman's empire, as these areas would be in worse economic collapse without some kind of ruler. One night, he finds Rouge trying to take the treasure from his treasure room and puts her in prison, although makes frequent trips to the prison. Rouge and Sonic fall in love in secret, eventually getting secretly married.
Crash Bandicoot Crash defeats The Empress with the help of his team and heads home, restoring the worlds of those who were destroyed using power of the Power Crystals. Crash returns and lives a rather peaceful life for the most part until Frieza shows up. Crash journeys to Mobius, where he gets help from King Sonic to use the Chaos Emeralds to fight off Frieza, although Frieza steals the Chaos Emeralds himself during the battle. Crash Bandicoot suddenly goes Super Sayian (Super Bandicoot?) destroying Frieza with his new found power. In the Dragonball universe, Goku is told the news, and proclaims he has a "new rival".
Doom Slayer Doom Slayer defeats The Empress with the help of his team, going way overboard with the kill to insure she stays dead. Doom Slayer doesn't bother to restore the worlds he destroyed, seeing them as causalities of a greater cause. Doom Slayer takes over the tournament and revamps it into a training ground for a army of Doom Slayers trained by himself and Nikki, raiding the various hells of the worlds he knows about thanks to the tournament with his squads.
Master Chief Master Chief defeats The Empress with the help of his team and heads home, restoring the worlds with Forerunner tech. Master Chief blows up the tournament (sans Nikki) and walks away, returning to his home world. Master Chief ultimately retires from fighting and becomes Master Chef, working with Cooking Mama and Cortana to create tasty dishes to people across the entire universe. He soon finds fierce competition with Kirby, leading to Kirby: Reach.
Megaman Megaman defeats The Empress with the help of his team and heads home, restoring the worlds using his copy of The Empress' ability. Megaman returns home to his family, surprisingly not dealing with another Wily attack. However, it is not long until something of Wily's does awaken, known as Zero. An event known as the Cataclysm happens, where Zero murders everyone, although they do put up a good fight but are ultimately unable to stop him. Toad Man ends up shutting Zero down in a suicide attack, which would lead to the events of Megaman X.
Kat Kat defeats The Empress with the help of her team and heads home, restoring the worlds using The Empress' energy and Dusty and Xii, however in the process they are both sacrificed. Kat returns to her home world with Raven, and without their Gaurdians are not helpful against the Nevi. The Doom Slayer squads manage to take care of it though, and Raven and Kat live happily together as a couple. Interesting, a dog and a lizard that looks similar to Dusty and Xii appear at the end of the cutscenes, implying they may have reincarnated.
Goku Goku defeats The Empress with the help of his team and heads home, using the Dragon Balls to restore the worlds. Goku returns to his world, but ten years pass with no battles, no dangers... just tournament battles that never go awry. During this time, Goku has been battling Crash Bandicoot and learning of his strengths and limits. He also begins to train the reincarnation of Buu, Uub into becoming a protector of the universe.
Spider-Man Spider-Man defeats The Empress with the help of his team and heads home, using the Infinity Stones to restore the worlds. Spider-Man returns to his world, and rests. The next day, Mysterio attacks the city and Spider-Man attempts to stop him but in the process sees memories of a past... a past that was erased by the demon Mephisto. After telling Mary Jane, Mary Jane tells him that a small part of her always knew and the two go into hell and fight Mephisto with Venom, Silk, and Dr. Octopus. Mary Jane and Spider-Man defeat Mephisto and restore their marriage in the process. Back to being a married man, Peter Parker eventually retires after losing his leg to a battle with the Green Goblin. Mary Jane and Peter have a kid known only as May Parker, who eventually becomes Spider-Girl.
Wonder Woman TBA

Trivia[]

  • Mario's third level hyper references God Mario, a infamous article on Fantendo for it's overpowered capabilities.
  • Sonic's Super Sonic hyper oddly references the Fleetway Sonic, who is a evil twist of the Super Sonic concept.
  • Each ending takes place in alternate timeline, although many of the same events happen in each regardless of who restored or didn't restore the universes. Each timeline is different because it falls on one single character to restore the worlds, as they are the only ones who have the possible means to.
  • Sonic's ending references some of the events that occurred in the Archie Sonic universe, namely that Sonic kills Eggman and his millionith ring restoring some of the damage that had happened.
  • Crash Bandicoot's ending humorously references this mod for Dragon Ball Xenoverse.
  • Megaman's ending references The Cataclysm, a fan theory that states Zero killed the classic cast of the Megaman games during the gap between the classic megaman games and Megaman X. This theory has been officially shot down before, and seems to have originated from the Bob and George webcomic.
  • Goku's ending is a reference to the last episode of Dragon Ball Z's initial run and the current end of the Dragon Ball timeline (as GT is no longer canon).
