Nintendo vs SEGA 1: Universal Clash or NvS1 for short is a crossover fighting game developed by Nintendo and SEGA for arcades worldwide. It is the third installment in the Nintendo vs SEGA Mainline Series (which would carry the series' official name) and the fifth game in the Nintendo vs SEGA Series. What makes the game unique is that it also includes other Nintendo and SEGA Series such as The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, Pokemon, Splatoon, Jet Set Radio, Vocaloid, Yakuza, Virtua Fighter, and Super Monkey Ball, rather than Mario and Sonic characters.
We know about two worlds, Mario and Sonic. However, there are more worlds out there aside from the said ones. This shocking discovery was made by the notorious Bowser, King of the Koopas. He has decided to make a device that can give him power to rule the other worlds. Shadow attempted to stop this evil plan of Bowser, but the power of the device has gone haywire. It made Shadow and Bowser merge into a powerful entity known as Blackout. Bowser controls the body of Blackout, executing his plan of taking over the other worlds, but a part of Shadow's conscience summoned his friends, Mario and Sonic. Not only Luigi, Peach, Donkey Kong, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy joined in, but other heroes from Nintendo and SEGA Worlds.
