Final Smash Nintendo Power!
Home Stage Meta Crystal
Nester is an unlockable newcomer in Super Smash Bros. Rebirth, hailing from the Nintendo Power series of magazines. While not actually a character from games originally, Nester appeared in titles including Nester's Funky BowlingStarTropicsTo the Earth, among many more. Nester was an April Fool's character for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U (later confirmed to be fake), and SonicFanG7 thought it would be funny to include him in a fan project. Nester's moves are based mostly on early Nintendo accessories (e.g. Nester's grab involves him using the Ultra Hand, Nester's neutral special has him shooting an NES Zapper, etc.) along with some of the games he appeared in. The home stage for this mascot is Meta Crystal, returning from the original Smash on the Nintendo 64.

Special Moves

  • Neutral Special: NES Zapper
  • Side Special: Power Glove Smack
  • Up Special: Human Cannonball
  • Down Special: Strike!
  • Final Smash: Nintendo Power! - Nester uses several cheat codes featured in Nintendo Power issues to power himself up. After doing so, Nester's attacks are boosted, and the final blow is Nester jumping on the opponents' heads to come out of a pipe, referencing the first cover of Nintendo Power. This move does 39% damage to opponents.

  • Neutral Special: Pro Beam
  • Side Special: Power Pad 360
  • Up Special: Hang Glider

  • Nester is the only character who's home stage is not from their series.
    • Meta Crystal originated from Super Mario 64's Cavern of the Metal Cap mission.
  • Nester is also the only character who originally appeared as a joke character/hoax in any previous Smash games.
    • Even though there was a Toad hoax during MeleeCaptain Toad is a completely different character.
