The Myth Type is a fanon type introduced in Pokémon Pyrite and Aquila Versions, as one of the 24 types expanded on from the original 18. Depending on the timeline it and the other 23 types are introduced in this game. Myth Type Pokemon are based on mythological beings, mostly based around Ancient Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Aztec concepts. Some Myth Pokemon follow historical theories such as the Loch Ness Monster and Bigfoot. Myth Type was introduced to segregate Rock Types from Ancient Pokemon and also to pull types like Steel , Water and Psychic into Ancient-style Pokemon. Overall the Myth Type are a bit iffy.
Myth is on the weak side when it comes to its ratios however makes up for being able to combat Dragon and Ice types as well as being resistant to Nuclear Type which is highly dangerous to most types. When dual-typed correctly Myth-Type can be very powerful.
With a total of more than 50 Pokemon, Myth-Type contains one of the larger groups of Pokemon for the Fanon types although this is due to Type Changes of old Pokemon accounting for 50%. So far only one Pokemon has appeared as a Pure Myth-Type being Cherla from Generation 10.
Myth Pokemon cover most Egg Groups although specialize in the Dragon, Water and Bug Egg Groups and rarely appear in the non-organic Egg Groups (with exceptions).
