September 8: Nintendo and Koei Tecmo announcedHyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, a prequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild that depicts the events leading up to the Great Calamity featured 100 years prior to that game. As with Hyrule Warriors, the game will feature a number of playable characters in addition to Link, including Princess Zelda and the four Guardians: Mipha, Daruk, Urbosa, and Revali. Pre-ordering the digital version of the game will grant the player a unique Lucky Ladle weapon for Link.
September 3: Nintendo aired a new Nintendo Direct with a focus on content relating to the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros.! New games announced include Super Mario 35, Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros., Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, and the long-rumoured Super Mario 3D All-Stars!

June 22: The ARMS fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is Min Min! Her fighter pack will release on June 29 along with new Mii costumes based on Ninjara, Callie, Marie, Heihachi, and the Vault Boy from Fallout. Go to this blog to discuss the reveal.
March 26: A Nintendo Direct Mini has premiered! Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition will release on May 29 and include a new story, titled Xenoblade Chronicles: Future Connected; Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order has received its Fantastic Four DLC pack; a fighter from ARMS will be introduced to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as the first DLC fighter in Fighters Pass Vol. 2; and hit titles like Bioshock, Borderlands, and Burnout Paradise will be making their debut on the Switch! March 20:Animal Crossing: New Horizons and DOOM: Eternal have released!
February 19:Nintendo has announced that they will be airing a Nintendo Direct presentation focused entirely on Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The presentation will release on February 20 at 6 am PT / 9 am ET / 5 pm GMT.

January 16: Byleth, the player avatar and main protagonist in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, has been officially announced as the last character in the Fighters Pass! They will release on January 28 alongside their home stage, Garreg Mach Monastery, and new Mii costumes based on Mega Man X, MegaMan.EXE, the Rabbids, Altair from Assassin's Creed, and Cuphead. Fighters Pass Volume 2 has also been announced, and will include six additional fighters!
September 25:Mario Kart Tour has released worldwide on iOS and Android!
September 20:The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening has released worldwide for the Nintendo Switch!

August 7: A new update for Dr. Mario World has added Dr. Daisy, Dr. Wario, and Dr. Waluigi to the game. New stages have also been added as well!
August 7: More new information about Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield has been released. In addition to a new Electric/Dark-type Pokémon named Morpeko, regional variants have been confirmed to exist with Weezing, Zigzagoon, and Linoone all receiving these forms. Exclusive evolutions have also been confirmed for Galarian Pokémon, with Galarian Linoone evolving into Obstagoon. New characters, including new rivals Bede and Marnie, were also shown off, as was the Galar region's new evil team, a group of crazed Marnie fans calling themselves Team Yell. August 6: The first Event Tourney for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been revealed! Heroes vs. Villains will begin on August 8th, and players will be able to choose to fight on either side with heroes like Mario, Link, Samus, Fox, and Hero and villains like King K. Rool, Meta Knight, and Ridley. The higher you place, the better Spirit you'll win!
July 31: The Hero from the Dragon Quest series has been released as a playable DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, alongside a 4.0 update bringing back Spectator mode and online tournaments. It was also confirmed that limited-time tournaments with special rulesets and restrictions, called Event Tourneys, will also be held in the future.
July 11: The newest version of the Nintendo Switch has been announced called the Nintendo Switch Lite. It has a smaller form factor, a unified colour scheme, and non-detachable controllers. It will launch with an MSRP of $200 in North America.
