This article is about the character from the Kirby series. For the Purple Koopa Bro. character, see Marx.

Marx is a character who appears in Kirby Superstar and Kirby Superstar Ultra.

Personality

At first, Marx seems somewhat friendly and willing to help Kirby stop the Sun and the Moon from fighting and lures him into summoning Nova, a mechanical being which can grant anyone a wish. After Kirby summoned Nova, Marx revealed his true colours by knocking Kirby out of the way and making himself one of the most powerful begins in existance through a wish granted by Nova. He becomes sadistic and demanded power over every being that lived on Pop Star, his desperate hunger lead to his downfall when he was destroyed by Kirby twice, once in his regular form and another as Marx Soul.

Abilities

At the beginning of the Milky Way Wishes, he is powerless, but will collect his own power after Kirby summoned Nova.

Marx have various power like throwing boomerang-like cutters, drop a icical bomb and fires a giant laser (which resembles an internet meme, Shoop Da Whoop). When being Marx Soul, he can split himself into two big paintball and will either become larger and bash Kirby (Similiar to Drawcia Soul's) or make a rain of paints. In Kirby: Mass Attack as the minigame last Kirby Brawl Ball Boss, he is about 5 times bigger than his originally is, and some of his power are ironicly weakened. It is unknown if he have an ability to get bigger or that it is a Nintendo Logic.

Appearances

Crazy Party series

Marx makes his debut in the Crazy Party series in Crazy Party: Extreme Gear Ride! as the opponent in the fourth and final Boss Bash mission in mission mode.

Super Smash Bros. Series

He appear in the Super Smash Bros. Games, but is most recently in Super Smash Bros. Online as one of the Final Boss, as it's diabolatic form, Marx Soul, is the true Final Boss.

Kirby Air Ride 3D

Two of Marx's forms appear in Kirby Air Ride 3D: Marx Soul, and Marx's evil form.

Marx Soul is the final boss in The True Arena. During the battle, the you race on a straight, endless course while Marx fires lasers at you, which you must swerve around. Every little bit there is a ramp, with a power panel on it. When you go up the ramp, you must swerve into Marx (who will now fly away from you) and use your attack. Eventually, Marx will die in the same way as he does in Kirby Super Star Ultra.

Marx's normal, evil form is a playable character, which you unlock after beating The True Arena. There is nothing special about him, like the other character, and he is merely there for people who like playing as different characters.

It is, oddly, possible to battle Marx Soul as Marx.

Trivia

  • His music was remixed in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
  • Although deceased, some fans presume that he is still alive along with Magolor, as Marx (and among with Magolor later) was seen in Kirby Master video of Kirby Super Star Ultra (and later, Kirby's Returns to Dreamland), and even returns in Kirby Mass Attack in Kirby Brawl Ball.
    • However it might be a coincidence, since villains from Kirby (King Dedede don't count) didn't revived except of the Dark Matters in main games.
  • Speaking of Magolor, two of his attack (the Laser Attack and the Black Hole) was reused by Magolor himself but dosen't looked exactly like Marx's. Both of them even have a Soul Form and these souls are in the True Arena.
    • It's also possible that Magolor might talk about Marx as a friend of him if Kirby talk to him in the EX Mode after collected all of the 120 Energy Spheres.
  • An uncommon joke that Marx and Tabuu are the same by their similair power and have wings. This later become a complete coincidence.
  • His soul form, Marx Soul, will do an earbleeding scream once defeated, either indicate his agony or his huge rage from his defeat.
