Marvel vs. Capcom: Resurgence is a 2D fighting game developed by Inora and Andrewtheking, published by Capcom and distributed by Marvel Entertainment. The sequel to Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, the game's name comes from the fact that it is a return to form for the series, taking most of its cues from Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. The title is multiplatform and is set to release in 2017.
The game features a brand new story mode which follows the heroes battling Thanos and Astaroth. Reception thus far has been (TBA).

Iron Man |
Tony Stark was born a mechanical genius. After his parents died, he took over his family's company. Stark was known for being vain and selfish until he was kidnapped by terrorists who wanted him to build them a weapon with the help of a kidnapped scientist by the name of Professor Ho Yinsen. Instead he used their resources to build something to help them escape their captivity: a suit of powered armor. Stark used this armor to break free, but Yinsen was killed during their attempt. Stark decided that he would use this armor to make up for his past sins and help the world as the Invincible Iron Man. |

Captain America |
Steve Rogers was a weak young man who desperately wanted to enlist during World War II in order to fight the Nazis. However, he was deemed unfit to be in combat, until he was brought into a special program called Operation: Rebirth by the Strategic Scientific Reserve. He was subjected to the Super Soldier Serum, which transformed him into a soldier who was at the peak of physical perfection. However, before the serum's ingredients could be written down, the lead scientist was assassinated by a Nazi spy. Steve, now with the name Captain America, was given a shield and tasked with fighting Hitler's forces. However, while trying to stop a missile, Steve was flung into the ocean and frozen until modern times, where he would become a founding member of the Avengers. |

Thor Odinson is the son of King Odin of Asgard. He grew up as an adventurous but arrogant young man, alongside his adoptive brother Loki. Due to his performance in physical activities. With the mystical hammer Mjolnir in hand, Thor became the God of Thunder. After Thor's hardheadedness nearly led to a war with the Frost Giants. Odin felt that Thor needed to learn humility and responsibility, so he banished him from Asgard to live with the humans, where he would meet and fall in love with Jane Foster. But when Loki returned to attack Earth. Thor would once again rise up to stop him, he would go on to become a founding member of the Avengers. |

Hulk |
Bruce Banner was a young nuclear physicist who worked with the government in order to study gamma radiation. He worked there with his love interest Betty Ross and her father General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross as part of an experiment that Ross claims is meant to make humans immune to gamma radiation. When experiment went wrong Bruce was was cursed with the ability to transform into a hulking beast due to his father's exposure to radiation before conceiving him. General Ross vowed to hunt down this monster, called the Hulk by the media, in order to protect the world. The Hulk would later go on to form the Avengers with other heroes. |

Clint Barton was orphaned at a young age. Clint Barton and his brother Barney fled to a traveling circus, where Clint was trained as a master archer, and eventually became known to the world as Hawkeye, the world's greatest marksman. Hawkeye can be a bit cocky and hot-headed at times, but he can definitely back that up his words with a large array of specially-crafted arrows at his leisure. |

Peter Parker was once just a normal teenager until the day his life was changed forever when he was bitten by a radioactive spider on a school fieldtrip. Peter discovered he had gained spider-like powers from this. Peter decided to use his powers to win a cash prize for staying in the ring with a professional wrestler for three minutes. He easily defeated the wrestler, and a TV producer convinced hi to go on television. Even going so far as to design a full costume and a pair of Web-Shooters. He returned home one night to find that his Uncle Ben had been murdered. Feeling guilty for Ben's murder, Peter decided to use his powers to fight crime, and officially become Spider-Man. |

Carol Danvers was an decorated Air Force Major, having signed up at a a young age. Carol was tasked with investigating the extraterrestrial Kree soldier Mar-Vell. Following a confrontation with Mar-Vell's enemy, Yon-Rogg, Carol and Mar-Vell were caught in the explosion of a Kree Psyche-Magnitron. The energy from the Magnitron somehow caused Carol’s genetic structure to be melded with Mar-Vell's, imbuing her hybrid Kree-Human genes, giving her her powers. Carol became a superhero Taking the name Captain Marvel in honour of Mar-Vell. |

Kamala Khan is a teenage Pakistani American from Jersey City who discovered that she gained Inhuman genes after the Terrigen Mists got released throughout the world, giving her shapeshifting abilities. She takes the name of of Ms. Marvel from her idol Carol Danvers after Danvers becomes Captain Marvel. She acts as Jersey City's protector. |

The devilish fourteen year old pirate known as Tron Bonne is the mechanical genius of the Bonne family, possessing an IQ of 180. She is in charge of building and maintaining all of the Bonnes' mechanical devices. She acts as the right hand woman of her older brother Teisel. Tron is also the creator and "mother" of the Servbots, whom she treats much like her own children. She secretly harbors a huge crush on the hero Mega Man Volnutt. |

The man known only as Ryu was orphaned as a child, with no knowledge of who his parents were or if they are still alive. He was adopted by a man named Gouken and began living and training with with him. It was during his training where he met Ken Masters, who would go on to become his greatest friend. When Ryu was about 23 years old, he left Gouken and Ken and headed to fight in the first World Warrior Tournament. After defeating its host, Sagat. Ryu returned home only to find that Gouken has been killed by Akuma, Ryu began to travel the world to find this man to avenge him, fighting in many tournaments along the way. |

The woman known as Chun-Li was a young Interpol investigator who had been searching for clues to the recent death of her father. Tracking down the the mysterious crime syndicate known as Shadaloo and its leader, M. Bison, she demands he tell her what happened to her father. To her surprise, Bison attacks and basically makes quick work of her. Chun-Li swore vengeance, traveling the world to track him down. |

Morrigan is a powerful succubus and the adopted daughter of Belial Aensland, one of the rulers of the Makai realm. She found her life in the Aensland castle dull, and so she visited the human world many times to look for some kind of entertainment. After returning once night she was told that Belial had died and that she is the next successor to the throne of the Aensland family. Although she is rightfully the ruler of Makai, she keeps avoiding her responsibilities and continues her life as before. |

Leon S. Kennedy was a police officer with the Raccoon City Police Department. He found himself caught up in the city's t-Virus outbreak. His actions in the city are what lead to him being hired by newly elected President Graham to save his daughter Ashley from the Los Iluminados cult. |

A witty everyman, Agent Coulson often finds himself in situations that are way bigger than him, but keeps a cool head through it all. The kind-hearted, optimistic agent doesn't get the glory or credit his superhero allies do, but he's just as much of a fighter in his own right.

Albert Wesker |
Albert Wesker was once a highly regarded member of Umbrella. He made many breakthroughs alongside his colleague William Birkin such as the G-virus and the Nemesis Parasite. He was eventually ordered by Umbrella to lure the S.T.A.R.S. team into the Spencer Estate, in order to test the newly created B.O.W.s that roamed the mansion. In the final fight Wesker injected himself with a specially engineered virus and has the Tyrant attack him, which seemingly killed him. But Wesker never stays dead for long.----
