Mario Tennis (tentative title) is the seventh installment in the Mario Tennis series. It will be released late 2012 for the Wii U. Not much is known yet, other than the fact that it will incorporate new features not yet seen in the Mario Tennis series.
Gameplay
Skill Types
- All Around: A character that is a above average in all categories.
- Speedy: A character that can get to the ball in time, but lacks raw strength.
- Power: A character that can hit the ball with great force, but lacks speed.
- Technique: A character that can place the ball on the corners of the net.
- Tricky: A character that can curve the ball, which can confuse the opponent on where it's going.
- Cruiser: A character that can easily hit the ball while in motion, but often misses while not moving and has medium-high power.
- Defense: A character that can easily hit the ball from any position and has decent speed and strength.

There will be a total of 30 separate playable characters, 9 of which are unlockable, and 4 downloadable. There are also 12 alternate colors, 7 Yoshis and 5 Toads, that can be downloaded. Each character will be sorted into one of 7 different classes; All-around, Speedy, Power, Technique, Tricky, Cruiser, and Defense.
