Mario Tennis: Supreme Smash is an upcoming game in the Mario Tennis franchise for the Nintendo 3DS due to be released in Summer 2013. It has revealed to feature 20 character plus multiple others via DLC, however, not much else is known at this time.

There are 20 characters in Mario Tennis: Supreme Smash (12 default and 8 unlockable). Each character receives a rating out of 5 in each of these categories:
- Speed: How quickly the character can move
- Power: How hard the character can hit each shot
- Spin: How much spin the character can put on the ball
- Reach: How far the character can reach out to hit the ball
