Mario Kart Ultra Fueled is a racing game developed by JAD Multimedia Studios and publised by Nintendo, released for the Nintendo Switch, it is the 2nd Mario Kart Game to be released for the Switch following Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as well as the first Mario Kart game to feature Erin Esurance as a Mario series character. Unlike previous installments, Ultra Fueled doesn't introduce elements that affect the layout of courses, although gliding, underwater, and anti-gravity sections do return. Instead, the game focuses on introducing new characters into the Mario Kart series. Additionally, Battle Mode returns, as does Mission Mode from Mario Kart DS.
Gameplay[]
Gameplay is very similar to games like past Mario Kart games, most specifically from Mario Kart Wii to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Players can pick characters and vehicles of varying stats, strengths and weaknesses, and race against each other in obstacle course-like race tracks to finish first of 15 racers. During the race, players can pick up Item Boxes to either help themselves or hinder the other racers.
Ultra Fueled brings back several elements from previous games. Notably, the gliding, underwater, and anti-gravity sections introduced in Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart 8 respectively return, functioning identically to how it worked in those said games. Auto-accelerate and Smart-Steering from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also return. In addition, kart customization from Mario Kart 7 returns as well, with players being able to customize bodies, tires, and gliders to make their own vehicle.
