Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was released for the Nintendo Switch on April 28, 2017. A DLC Pack is announced for the game to release on July 12, 2019. The game adds new characters, tracks, vehicle parts, character skins, and items. The DLC Pack is found on the Eshop for free.

Bowser Shell Cup


The Bowser Shell Cup features retro Bowser's Castle tracks.

Tracks Changes
N64 Bowser's Castle The hallways with the thwomps will be anti-gravity, so the thwomps give you a speed boost.
GCN Bowser's Castle Not much changes except that the big ramp at the end is a gliding section.
DS Bowser's Castle The only change is that the road that drives up will be in anti-gravity.
Wii Bowser's Castle The bridge going up will be replaced with a gliding ramp. The halfpipes will be gone. The twisted room part will have you drive on the walls in anti-gravity, similar to Twisted Mansion.

Rainbow Cup

SMG3 Rainbow Star

The Rainbow Cup features retro Rainbow Road tracks.

Tracks Changes
GCN Rainbow Road The rainbow pipe that sends you flying up will have you glide.
DS Rainbow Road The upside down loops will be in anti-gravity.
Wii Rainbow Road The shooting star cannon will have you glide and the halfpipe part will be replaced with a speed boost ramp.
3DS Rainbow Road Nothing changes.

Cappy Cup

ACL Cappy Mario

The Cappy Cup features retro Mario Circuit tracks.

Tracks Changes
GCN Mario Circuit There will be a gliding ramp behind the chain chomp.
DS Mario Circuit The fire breathing piranha plant will now just reach for you to eat you, not breath fireballs. You can trick off of the pipe. Once you get to the area where Peach's castle is, the track will be in anti-gravity until you exit the pipe and drive off a ramp at the end of the pipe to exit the anti-gravity.
Wii Mario Circuit The ramp for the shortcut behind the chain chomp is now a gliding ramp.
3DS Mario Circuit Nothing changes.

Inkling Cup

SSBSpectrum Inkling

The Inkling Cup is based on the Splatoon series.

Tracks Changes/Information
Inkling City It is a new track based on Inkopolis from Splatoon series.
Splatoon Highway It is similar to Moonview Highway from Mario Kart Wii, but it has an Inkling theme.
Wii Koopa Cape The track resembles the Mario Kart Wii version rather than Mario Kart 7, but all of the water is replaced with ink.
Inkling Mall It is similar to Coconut Mall from Mario Kart Wii with the Mario Kart Wii version instead of Mario Kart 7's remake, but the mall is Inkling themed.

Battle Tracks

There will be 2 battle tracks. One new and one returning.

Tracks Information
Block Town It is based off of Block Fort, Block City, and Block Plaza. It has the giant blocks to drive on from Block Fort, but there are 3 stacked blocks rather than 2. The statues from Block City return. There are also sinking statues of Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Daisy from Block Plaza.
Wii Funky Stadium It stays the same as the original track.
