Mario & Donkey Kong: Koopa-Kremkroc Toys is a 2.5D puzzle-platformer game for the Nintendo Switch. It is the eighth installment in the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series.
Gameplay[]
Unlike recent games, the gameplay of Mario & Donkey Kong: Koopa-Kremkroc Toys is more similar to the original Mario vs. Donkey Kong, as well as Donkey Kong for the Game Boy. Mario retains his moveset from the aforementioned games; he is able to handstand, handstand jump, backflip, and pick up and throw objects. He can now ground pound, wall jump, and triple jump. Like the previous games, the player takes fall damage if they fall too far. Unlike the previous games, the player now has three hit points and infinite lives. Also unlike the previous games, levels have no time limit. There are four types of levels;
- Puzzle: The most common level type. In these levels, the player controls Mario, where the goal is to bring the key to the door.
- Action: The player controls Donkey Kong. The goal is to reach the top while avoiding obstacles.
- Mini: The goal is to guide the Minis to their toy box.
- Boss: The final level in each world. The player controls Mario, where he fights the world's boss.
