Marin is a young girl from Koholint Island who lives with her father Tarin. At the begging of Link's Awakening, she foundLink on the beach.
Marin became close to Link during his time on the island, and they were good friends until Marin disappeared due to Link waking up the Wind Fish.
Physical Appearance
In Link's Awakening, Marin is a teenage girl with red hair. She is almost always seen wearing a pale blue dress with dark blue and gold stripes around the sleeves and hem of the dress. She also wears a res sash around her waist and a hibiscus in her hair. She is also seen in most art with a harp, but this is not canon.
In Hyrule Warriors, her outfit remains the same, but she is seen holding a bell, which is her weapon. She also has on sandals and a dark red pendant simaliar to her Link's Awakening look.
Personality
Marin is depicted as a kind, carefree girl who is fair and has a strong sense of justice. She also loves to sing, and felt a strong connection to Link.
She wished to become a seagull, and travel away to other islands to sing to others, a wish that was granted in the secret ending ofLink's Awakening DX

Hyrule Heroes
Marin appears in Hyrule Heroes as a playable character. She attacks with her bell from Hyrule Warriors, and her Harp from Link's Awakening. She is a fast character, but her defense is not very good, and she has no shield.

- Aryll from Majora's Mask was based on Marin, and the two have many simularities.
- Marin and her father Tarin might be the inspiration for Malon and Talon in Ocarina of Time.
- Ilia from Princess Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword Zelda may also be modeled after Marin
