Lurantis, known in Japanese as ラランテス (Lalantes), is a Grass Pokémon that is native to Alola. It is the evolutionary form of Fomantis, and it is not known to evolve into any other Pokémon.
Biology[]
Lurantis is a plant-like Pokémon that bears resemblance to a praying mantis. The top half of its head is pink, while the bottom half is white. It has two red, iridescent eyes, two green antennae, and a small green lump between them. There are four extensions on its head; two at the top that have red tips and resemble ears, and two at the bottom that have white tips and are stylized like hair. Lurantis has a light-pink body with short extensions around the waist, and a green neck and abdomen. Its thin, white arms end in large red scythes with white along the rim and a single green claw on each. There are vertical pink and red stripes along its legs which have small, pointed green feet. Four red, wing-like appendages sprout from its back, each tipped in white.
Lurantis both looks and smells like a flower, giving it the title of the most glamorous Grass-type Pokémon in the world. It also uses this trait for hunting, attracting prey and launch a surprise attack when they draw too close. For self-defense, it will disguise itself as a Bug-type Pokémon to ward off predators.
