Luigi is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Calamity. Luigi is the brother and shadow of Nintendo's famous mascot, Mario. He's usually seen alongside him in most adventures, but sometimes he's just left behind, or sometimes he goes on his own adventures to save Mario, in which most of them take place in a mansion with ghosts roaming around. Good thing he has a vacuum cleaner so he can capture them.
Luigi's overalls have a purple tint, based on his appearance in the original Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64.
Luigi jumps slightly higher than he did in SSB3DS/Wii U.
Luigi has a new taunt, based on one of his former victory poses.
Luigi has a new victory pose, which replaces his "Bang bang" victory pose. Luigi spins around, before striking pose and dancing.
Luigi retains one of his Smash 64 victory poses.
Weaker alternate side smash.
New side smash animation, a palm thrust similar to Mario's side smash, but instead of an explosive fireball, Luigi emits an electrical burst. The move is stronger in terms of knockback.
New down aerial, a lightning bolt shot downwards that deals more damage and meteor smashes.
- The move deals less damage and knockback and the meteor smash is weak, making it eaiser to meteor cancel the move.
New neutral special, the Thunderhand ability from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. It deals more damage and knockback and can be charged. Alternatively, Luigi can fire a slow-moving electrical ball.
- The move all together has less range than his Fireball neutral special.
